So after a few dodgy range sessions I met up with my pro for a lesson to see how my change in grip and gone make sure it's still correct and just find out what's going on.

So he filmed a couple of down the line and face on and compared it to 6 months ago. Grip is now perfect interlocking compared to my previously open baseball grip. One thing we did notice was I'd widened my stance, this may have just been as I haven't played for a month so put that right.

We've now decided to work on swing plane, on the downswing I'm in plane, but the first 3 feet of the takeaway I need to have the shaft just above my knees..

Got some things to do, but a good session.

What made you change your grip from baseball?

Interested as I've always played baseball and nobody has ever suggested that I change it.

I am looking forward to playing with you one weekend.

I am free every other weekend from March the 10th :) Either Sat or Sun I dont mind

Its not that far from South Cambridge to your course is it? I am staying pretty much a few miles from the Goggly Magoggly

im happy enough with the baseball too. sometimes i try interlocking at the range and get a smooth release going buy not consistantly so i stick with what im used to.

I'd been working well on my swing changes and thought I'd be able to take the good work at the range and the drills I've been doing out onto the course today. WRONG. Old habits = total frustration and a crap score

Yeah we will definetly do something, now it's starting to get lighter in the eve we should be able to sort something out for a late weekend day at my track, it's 30ish mins down the A14 to Huntingdon.

I think the gogs is a bit of a members only place anyone else gets odd looks.

It's easy to get 'right hand dominant' with the baseball grip but if you're used to it and happy with it then changing is purely a personal preference based on your ballflight and scores.

strange i dont know anyone in my club ( who i have asked or played with anyway) that uses the basball grip its what i used when i was younger but interlock has massively improved my game. I also had a good lesson on the range working on the hinging of my wrists on the back swing i have a habbit up dropping my head to get the feeling of my club being lifted high. been working on this with my pro for about a month now and while not quiite perect ive knocked a couple shots off my game already
