The Club has deemed matches to be higher priority, so either accept that, change it, or go elsewhere.
And you think that in the current climate with the clamor to retain/ attract members that that is a sensible stance to take?

None taken but as explained before Matches have priority and should be invited to play through at our club, a problem for the 3 ball yes but not a problem for the others.
So it would appear that it doesn't hold up play for as long as some would think as this practice must have been happening for years at our place , I'm sure if it was a problem then it would have been discontinued.
The two other clubs I've been a member of had same policy so I wonder if it's a regional thing ?
It shouldn't.
I went on to explain why it should - basically out of courtesy to players in a match.
Happens all the time. We were playing in a board comp today and a womens three ball decided to plonk themselves off the 10th as the first was crowded. Right as we arrived on the tee. Not a backward glance and not a sign of them ever thinking of letting us through
Actually, the last one tee'd off after I got to the tee. One of her PPs looked back at me before she tee'd off, watched her tee off, ignored the club rule that they should have stood aside to allow us to continue. Looked backed again shortly after they left the tee and again before she hit her second shot.
Heading down to the first tee this morning and waved a cheery 'Good Morning' to the three ball who had held us up and they came across and offered their apologies as they'd not realised we were a Foursomes match and could I pass on their apologies to the other playersApologies accepted and passed on .
Comps only have priority on the first tee (if the tee time is booked).
After that, they should wait like everyone else if it's busy.
The idea that their match is more 'important' than any other game and therefor must be called through, is ludicrous in my opinion.
But if that's the club rule then call them through you must.![]()
I don't know how other players on the course are expected to know that another group is playing a knockout![]()
The match is played off the whites and everyone else is off the yellows. Sometimes when the tees are close can be hard to tell yes but most folks soon realise.
You suddenly see a different set of golfers behind you and then check to see which tees they go to and if whites call them through
Wouldn't work here, as many of our players use the whites when playing bounce games, we have very few restrictions on using the whites as members. The match is played off the whites and everyone else is off the yellows.
