After finishing last season on a high and getting my first cut my game slowly disintegrated over the winter. Today was the last straw scoring a whopping 16 points in the pro comp. my driver deserted me which has been a strong point upto the last few rounds, irons stopped going, putting was off. Only upside was my short game!! So tonight I booked myself a course of 5 lessons with a pro one of my playing partners recommended. Should have done this ages ago but thought it was just a blip and my game would return, it didn't! It gave me a few glimpses just to tease me, so I know it's lurking there somewhere.

Anyway here's to getting sorted and the future!

Also forgot to mention that I saved myself a fortune as they had a Groupon deal of the five lessons for £35, bargin.

bargain. I also am booking a series of lessons, changing pro so deciding which one to go with. Might well opt for Barney Pittuck (as featured in GM), must start working on my game post haste as I have been too lazy over the winter!

I firmly belive you should have lessons when you are playing well, not just when playing badly!

One lesson every other month is probably as infrequently as you should be when playing well. I used to go every 6-8 weeks. Yes its expensive but if you are serious then its required.

Imagine going to football or rugby training and not having a coach to tell you what to do, you just run around and mess around with the ball! I bet if a team did that from the beginning they would loose every game no matter how relatively talented their players were

Completely agree I've promised myself to keep the lessons up after this course. Things tend to slowly creep into my game and eventually I end up where I am now over a period of time. Throw in a few lessons to keep on top of things and should be sorted. Funds can be very tight at the moment with only one income but I'm sure I can afford £20 every couple of months!

I really enjoyed frequent lessons, its great to feel "coached" and the progression is so much faster when you have lessons while playing well.
