Recently purchased club from above site which looked legit enough but starting to worry it may be a fake club I'm getting. Website claimed to be uk based but payment debited from China with parcel apparently going through customs according to Parcelforce tracker. Has anybody bought anything from the website and can put my mind at ease?

No contact details and broken English on the website.

Hope you paid by cc.

Seen a post on Facebook yesterday saying that this website was selling fake clubs. They have changed their name from something else to this. The guy that put the post up eventually got his money back and also got to keep his fake club. Contact your bank and get your money back.

What club have you ordered?

As soon as it arrives take it to your Pro and ask his advice to see if he can authenticate it for you.

The site looks poor IMO but there are plenty of Chinese companies that have London addresses and ship from overseas which are OK, so, you won't really know until the club arrives and have someone look at it.

If you've paid by Paypal or Credit Card you don't have much to worry about as you can claim it all back if it turns out to be a wrong 'un.

Good luck.

Cheers folks.

Sheer stupidity on my part. Did pay by cc though so should get cash back.

It was a Ping G30 Hybrid for £120 I ordered.

I had a very similar experience posted this back in April:

"I know I shouldn't go trawling websites looking to buy golf clubs late on a Friday evening having been on the grape juice - but I did.

I was looking for a Taylormade R15 number 2 hybrid. No luck on golfbidder or ebay so just googled the club name. It came up trumps, or so it seemed, with what I was after at £100 with free delivery. I looked at the top of the web page and saw the words onlinegolf. Despite my befuddled state, I decided to check back on posts about dodgy websites and was mistakenly reassured that onlinegolf.co.uk was reputable and owned by American Golf. Unfortunately I had purchased from someone who was not onlinegolf.co.uk.

Today I received a confirmation email from service.golfsale@gmail.com which referred me to their website greatgolfclubs.co.uk and when I checked back on the website on which I made the purchase, it was called - not onlinegolf - but golfpages.co.uk.

The vino seems to have set me up for a costly mistake. The most I can expect - if I get anything - is a fake club.

When will I learn? "

The club did arrive - from Hong Kong. I spoke to Taylormade UK whose opinion was that it was almost certainly fake but to take it to my local pro. I took it to our Head Pro who took one look at it and said 100% certain to be fake. I contacted my credit card company, told them the story, and had the money credited back to my account within 24 hours. I had an outraged email from the selling company saying all their clubs were genuine. That was several weeks ago and not a peep from them since. A friend at the club wanted to take it off my hands as he wanted to try that loft of hybrid. I said OK (I had already managed to buy a genuine one), pay £30 to the Captain's charity and a warning - don't you dare to try and sell it on. I suspect the outfit you bought from is probably the same as I did and they just keep coming up with new co.uk websites.

That's hilarious that you got your money back and kept the club to be fair. Proper poke in the eye for the fake club peddler! Cheek of them to email you as well.

There was a thread on here a few months ago re a guy who had sent his Ping woods onto another company in exchange for some Nike woods, he could not get on with the Pings, ( which allegedly his Missis had bought). The swop, plus cash exchange was done. A day or two later the guy who had recieved the Pings in exchange for the Nikes contacted origanal Ping owner and said the Pings you sent me are fake. no wonder he could not get on with them. They were probably made out of plasticine.
Original Ping owner then comes on here asking if he should return his Nikes and get his fakes back. He was told in no uncertain terms by the vast majority of forumers he was extracting the urine.
Bottom line is that there is a lot of fakes out there, your not the first and won't be the last.
