Golfing Christmas Wishlist

This is very true but I've almost stopped this by creating a wishlist on Amazon (which can feature stuff from other shops too). I add loads of stuff to it just after my birthday (in February), then forget about it for a year. By the time Christmas comes round, I've forgotten what's on it so it just seems like people have chosen their gifts really well!

Great idea. Means you get the correct item, not what a non golfer thinks golfers want. On that theme, can I add golf ball monogrammer to the list of useless presents that non golfers think we want. Never had one yet that actually works.

I use the Amazon Wishlist too, that's what I need to update! I use it as a double whammy since my birthday is just a week before Christmas. Maybe I can ask for money towards next years membership? That doesn't sound too bad

I did have a new bag on my Wishlist but then I was given a Direct Golf voucher that was burning a hole in my wallet, so that scratch has been itched. My Wishlist is lengthy but, IIRC, the only golf-related items on there are books.

You mentioned a glove but have you got any rain gloves? I got a pair this year and they're brilliant for keeping a good grip when it's wet - think mine are from Wilson.

Shep

Under the palm tree this year I'm hoping to find a new driver

Its the only club I have a hankering to change and with the new Cobra coming out the Fly-z range is getting cheaper n cheaper

A very wise investment there sir, pile in, you know you want to.

I'll probably end up getting vouchers and buying yet another hybrid in the hope that it is better and goes further than my 23 degree Mizuno MX700 I've had for ages now. And then find out that it isn't any better. You'd think I would learn...

My bag is pretty settled ( for now) so no big golf purchases.

I'm asking Santa for :

A battery operated putt returner machine
The 'Pill' putting 'ball'
A putting mirror

Can you guess what I'm working on this winter ???

Being a golfer I find Christmas a time where unless asked, you tend to get the rubbish presents which any department store will usually sell for example:

- Generic black towel, possibly with your name on it.
- Flask w/ tees inside.
- Mug with golf equipment on it.

If a family member wanted to buy me a golf related present this year I will be pushing them in the direction of the vice golf website to buy me some balls and a hat

I'm hoping I get one of those little nutcracker thingies to stamp my initials on my balls. Only downside is they only do 3 letters so I'll have to settle for "TIG" on my ball :D

I guess I'm lucky, but I never get the crap golf-themed Christmas presents. The missus plays and so she's very good at letting the family know what I want and what I don't want. The in-laws also play, so they know not to bother buying any crap. I get the odd useless present from the grandparents, but never anything too bad.

Just been dangerously browsing Clubhouse Golf and found a long list of stuff I want. Damn you Jimbo getting me thinking about Xmas. I'm now looking at a Fly-Z Driver, more Oscar Jacobson clothes, a Motocaddy S1 lite and continuing to lust over the Scotty Cameron Futura X5. Christmas and my Birthday (Jan) could get expensive.

Not golf wise specifically but I get some shocking Christmas presents. The most notable is the gillette shaving set (obvious boots 3 for 2!) Best of all I have had varying degrees of designer stubble for 12 years!

Desperately hoping for a golf ball monogrammer but if that's not possible I'm keen on a very light stand bag. Mizuno do one that's almost a pencil bag that has a stand too. That'll do me !!!!!!

regarding gifts we will buy a weekend away playing Golf, last year we did St Andrews for a few days and this year prob do the Belfry.

Being the Belfry we should get value for money as it takes at least 6 hours to get round ;)

we still play on xmas morning, me and the missus get up early and have at least 9 holes. My course is open but clubhouse is closed:)

Awesome!! At our club I understand the owners and family members play together on a closed course. Good for them after all the work they put it!

I wouldn't bother with these, I've gone through two so far, a masters one and one of the PGA ones, both ones lasted only about a week.

very clever.

I always say 'Golf Balls' for Xmas.
People say 'but we dont want to just get your golf balls AGAIN'

to which i reply 'ok, get me something i dont want then'

I have a well trained labrador that brings my balls back, more reliable than those battery thingies :D

I find if I putt enough towards my wife when she's cooking eventually she'll get frustrated with me and start kicking them back :)

When our son starts crawling he'll be getting putted at and hopefully bring them back :)

In my experience he will pick them up... but not bring them back.. :D
