Golf Weekend ideas

Guys,

Myself and a mate run a golf society & for the last two years we've had a weekend away Sept/Oct time. We have to plan early as money is tight for some and we run a savings account which people can pay into over the year to help offset the cost. I'm looking for ideas on where to go, ideally needs to be 80-100 miles from West Mids and have two courses & a hotel/lodge. Recently we had two cracking days at Celtic Manor and last year played both courses at The Glamorgan Vale. Anything upto £150 pp ideally.

So over to you..............recommend away!!!

If budget is tight try the Abbotsley at St Neots, our works society went there about 3 years ago. Admittedly one course is much better than the other (Abbotsley is better than the Cromwell) but for a value for money weeked we couldn't fault it.

try the Carden Park it has two courses its by chester and with a hotel on site as well i stayed there last april 2 nights and 2 round of golf for i think it was 139 but might of gone up 2 great courses

Try the 'Bells Hotel & Forest of Dean Golf Club (Coleford). There is another good priced course within two miles 'Forest Hills' I believe Bells do some good deals and are not far from you. You could play both courses over a weekend and stay at Bells.

I would suggest Greetham Valley. 2 decent courses and they are running some mad deals at the moment. It should be within range and budget. Superb and reasonably priced food and beer in the village as well if you o to the Wheatheaf (but book a table)

Why not try St Pierre. Two course, fairly easy to get to and with other course nearby too. Plenty of cheap accommodation around the Chepstow area

I agree, some of you may recall my recent thread. I had my 60th birthday there a few weeks ago, 2 nights but with 3 games of golf. A weekend I will never forget, magnificent!

Hawkstone Park.

Has 2 courses (The Hawkstone and The Championship), full practice facilities and on site hotel accomodation.

I'm playing a 2 day works society there next week. Went last year and it was fantastic.

Would agree with this. Havn't played it myself but the Saturday swindle at my club went this year and raved about the place. The lodges are great apparently and so is the breakfast. There are 49 members from the swindle returning next May so it can't be too bad.
