Happy New Year All,

I'm looking for a new set of waterproofs, certainly a jacket and maybe some trousers too. I'm a massive fan of Puma (I'm exclusive you could say!) and won't touch any other sports brand...I've been like it since I was 12, I'm now heading for 25!
Has anyone used Puma Golf waterproofs, and be able to offer some feedback?
Waterproof ability, sizing, ease of putting on/taking off.

I'm looking towards this as a main Winter Jacket and possibly this as a summer jacket.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Don't know anyone who wears their waterproofs.
Personally I think you're missing some real quality stuff at good prices if you must have Puma on the garment.

My GGs are now 15 years old: they get washed and reproofed with Gortex treatment about twice a season or as needed.

Still wind and waterproof so while expensive upfront I think they're not bad value.

I'm slightly confused, it sounds like you are going with Puma regardless of what people say? 🤔

The summer one is not going to cause controversy as it doesn't claim to be waterproof, it is in effect a windproof top that does the job against light rain. I suspect you wont get many takers on the main waterproof top as I genuinely don't see people in Puma waterproofs. People here will guide you towards GG, Pro Quip, Footjoy, Sunice etc, particularly any top with Goretex in it, but I don't expect to see a review of Puma.

Live a little. For your waterproofs buy a more established golf waterproof brand.

I got some Puma golf shoes this year for the winter and so far they have been awesome. They seem to stay dry even when hitting it outta the lake on 5 ;).

Not really sure anyone is going to notice which brand of waterproofs you are wearing in the rain, more interested in staying dry themselves. You could get another brand and hide under a really big Puma umbrella instead then people would never know. :D

If you can afford it any make that has Goretex as part of the fabric will last a life time if you can put up with the colour fade and subject to the zips lasting. I've got a 30 year old pair of Sunderland Goretex trousers and they are as waterproof as the day I bought them.

I have tried other materials in various makes but have got nowhere near the life out of them.

Of the cheaper non Goretex kit the best I have had is ProQuip.

I was fortunate enough to be selected to do the GM Galvin Green waterproof testing tomorrow at West Hill. I'll write up how I get on. It looks like we'll have good weather, to test waterproofs in anyway! 😂

If you can find the cash then get some Galvin Green. If your someone who is willing to go out in all weathers then it is not worth trying to cut corners.

I asked for recommendations for waterproofs four years ago and went with Galvin Green jacket and trousers. I play several times a week throughout the year and I can say that they are excellent, as I have never been anything but bone dry.
