Golf Trousers

I find regular chinos are fine in winter but when it starts to get a little bit warmer, not shorts warm, they can get uncomfortably warm. 'Golf' trousers use a much more lightweight material that is more breathable and comfortable. Nothing wrong with regular chinos but I leave them for outside of golf.
Not all chinos are the same.
I've got some that I would never wear for golf.
I wasn't too warm yesterday walking through Bradgate Park and I wouldn't have been too warm in them if I had been playing golf. They are fairly light-weight.
I've got 7 or 8 trousers I can play golf in. The only "Golf" ones are Sportsdirect Slazenger lined winter trousers.
The others aren't "Golf" trousers, but they are trousers that I can play golf in. I can't imagine myself ever playing golf in trousers that are not comfortable for playing golf in.

Bought a couple of pairs of M&S chinos from a M&S outlet store last week - £18 each (it was in the East Midlands Designer Outlet Centre to be fair a so a bit tricky for our northern cousins to get to). My Mrs chose them and approved them when I tried them on - so they must look OK.

Once it’s too warm for chino trousers it’s always short weather 😁

Trousers have been packed away now until November
You might be thinking differently if you played in the NE of England 😄 . Spring and Autumn are times when you can start the round at 4°C but by the 9th hole it is 12-14°C. Too cold for shorts for the first part of the round, particularly if the wind is from the north, but for the second half you are not wanting heavy chinos either. Golf material trousers work well up here. I'll be in shorts once it is warm enough but it certainly isn't yet (the spread for Saturday here is 3-8°C ☹️)

4 degrees is bearable 😂

But certainly plenty layers on top 😂

Yeah the North East wind is a bit biting

We do have some that only ever wear shorts

Like that on Saturday in leafy Berkshire. Was 3 degrees according to the car when I got to the club. Was supposed to be 15 around midday but that nagging wind made it fell colder. Glad I opted for slightly thicker material trousers but a pain with te top layers. Too hot/too cold all the way round the back 9 when I took stuff off and so it went back on and then hot again. Give me 25 degrees and I'll know where I stand

I see them here as well, playing golf or just walking their dog etc. Crackers, they can't be comfy. It's surely just trying to prove a point at that stage.

Spain?

25°C, you can tell your a southerner 😄 . That's a peak day for us, one day a year :ROFLMAO:. I'm happier at around 18°C so that is fine with me.

In fairness legs are not the main points where you lose heat and there are many sports where you see them in shorts

When I was out in Kosovo it was always below zero but walked about in shorts with the top half layered up

Same here on Sunday. Turned up at 7:30am with polo, midlayer and gilet on. Five holes in the sun was out and I was down to shirt sleeves. Then the 30mph gusts of wind started and the midlayer went back on. More costume changes than Lady Gaga.

I'd do it a fair bit. Legs don't get cold and I hate them the bottom of trousers legs get soaked and heavy from walking around in the rough.

I did buy a pair of those Sunderland chinos from County golf this year and they are nice. Slim fitting to the leg and comfy. Unless it's really cold from now till November I mignt not have them back on again.

I have a pair of calf length waterproof socks so even if the bottom of the trousers gets wet it doesn't soak into my socks inside the waterproof ones and the longer version keeps the skin dry on my legs. If I am getting wet trousers above calf height that ias some pretty long rough and I doubt I'd be finding my ball so chances are I'm playing the provisional
