Just a quick question, but what pants do you use for golf?

I'm looking to get kitted up for the season and wanting some new pants having just worn plain black trousers in the past.

I've never considered 'golf-trousers' until now but are they just chinos with a golf brand slapped on their back pocket?

Just a quick thought, but have never stood in a golf shop and look at the style of them

Trousers made specifically for golf usually have added features like waterproof coating or moisture wicking depending on what you need from a pair of TROUSERS (not pants, pants are underwear)I have a couple of pairs of 'golf' trousers that are no better than a pair of chinos I got from Tesco or cords from M&S. Don't be fooled by the brands .... look at whats out there and find a pair that fit you and your budget.

I use basic black/Dark Blue cotton chino-type from M&S, BHS or Debenhams. Less than 20 quid and last - but then I don't get on with polyester!!

I bought a few pairs of nike check trousers, very reasonable at the time for 25 quid, they are extremely comfortable which was the main reason for getting more than 1 pair.

Got some Ping (don't start) polyester type that almost have the look of waterproofs. They are light and comfortable even in hot conditions and even if they get wet in a quick shower will be dry within minutes. The best I've had to be honest. Have a couple of pairs of Strombergs too. Trouble with Cotton Chinos is they tend to fade quickly in the wash so IMO aren't that good VFM when they look crap after only a couple of months.

I have 2 pairs of Matalan strides hanging in my wardrobe. Great value at first, fit and look nice. Give them a couple of washes and the leg length shortens and they fade. Wore them last time out and felt decidedly scruffy as well as feeling a distinct draught around my ankles!

Chinos tend to be roasting in the summer. Can feel very uncomfortable on a hot day.
Polyester is the way forward for summer golf, if you can get on with them as they tend to cling.

Currently looking for a couple of pairs of new strides myself for the season.

Ive always worn black or grey trousers, last week i brought 3 lovely pairs of Nike striped trousers, absolutely love them,i nearly look as smart as Rickg now, also buying something new always makes you feel better.

I bought a couple of pairs of pinstriped trousers from Tesco last year. First pair was about £8.00 and the second were £12.00. Lovely fit and they wash up a treat.
M&S do some great trousers as well, little bit more expensive but you can pick up some really nice striped/checked ones for about £25.00 or so.
Cannot see the point on paying £50.00 plus for a pair of trousers to wear on the course.

Adidas golf trousers for me. Have worn chino's, and tried Stromberg recently, but they are a little too short in their long length. Have gone back to Adidas, especially like the new range with the V-hem.

I have a mix of trousers for golf, Tesco, Palm grove (from AG), Galvin Green (in a sale) and of course, for those special occasions, John Daly's

The only really worthwhile difference between golf and non-golf I've found is the reinforcing tape on the inside of the turn-up.

Whatever I can afford at the time really. Did have some cash around last year so got a few pairs of Strombergs (mostly in sales and through HID's work) but with money tighter, Smiffy is bang on the money with M&S. I got a great pair of grey trousers last week for £27.99. Lighweight and with a Teflon coating which should help in light rain.

I got a couple of pairs of Hippo golf trousers from the Edinburgh Wool Shop golf section really comfortable wash up nice and only £15 a pair.
