Arrived today. New layout is nice. Pity about the placement of the fold out Nike Covert Ad. That got me really confused. Couldn't work out what was going on. Pair of scissors has now sorted it out.

Wonder if the Rules thread will be a bit quieter for a while.

Yep, I like the new layout, it does freshen things up!

Love Birchy's mug shot on p127!

Just blown up a copy and put it on mantelpiece and it's keeping the grand children away from the fire!

Got ours today.
I like having forum section right after the letters (first bit i read) hopefully will get more subscribers interested in forum. Always felt it was buried in the middle of adverts near the end.

Got mine today and first impressions are very good. I haven't read it all through yet - all 170 pages, a bumper edition?

I noticed, as I flicked through, the Historical Masters section which should be a good read. I've always thought that GM is a forward looking magazine but it's still nice to see that the history of the game is not forgotten.

thanks everyone for your comments so far. glad to hear the new look seems to be popular

always good to get feedback good or bad so please keep it coming - from the general to the specific its all listened to I promise!

Mashie, glad someone thought the Nike bound in advert looked like it was in the wrong place - it was! supposed to be in between two single pages of non related content 34/35.

The printer put it on 67/68 in error... bang in the middle of Bill Elliott's new 'big read' piece. There was more than a few forehead/palm interaction scenarios (and shouts of WTF) when the first copies arrived at GM towers at the end of last week!

moving the forum content fron the back to the front and from 2 pages to 1 was a big decision that we went over and over in meetings
we have edited a number of 2 page 'features' down to 1 and this is one of them.

The aim was to free up extra pages for new stuff (total page count the same) but at the same time keep the essence of the features. I hope we have done that on the forum page - all the core elements are there we have just edited it tight. Rest assured when there's a mega forum meet like KOK or H4H it'll go up to 2 pages

The move right up the front to be with 'letters' (always in the top 3 most read bits of the mag) to form a new 'your view' section shows how central to the whole GM community we view the forum. I hope even more non-forumers will see what this place is all about and come by to discover more

Good piece by Tony Jackliin by the way, one of the more honest and insightful articles from the pro contributors

I love the historical bits and really looking forward to reading this. Hope they will always have a place in the magazine.

I'll bet, especially as without the ad that double page title spread has real impact.

Agree that it looks like a bumper issue, just worried that I won't be able to read it all before the next edition.

Great job.

My copy arrived yesterday through the post, I think the new lay out is really good, and really enjoyed the "I did it" interview with Gary Cassells, it just proves if we practce it will happen....
