Playing Rolls of Monmouth and St Pierre in early September. Any advice?

Some of the greens at The Rolls are very slopy so try and stay on the low side of the hole if you can. Gem of a course in the middle of nowhere, one of my favourites. The clubhouse is the old garages where Mr Rolls used to park his car. There is a wooden carving in the bar with all of the founder members names on it. Greg Norman is named as the attached touring pro. The house is a great backdrop at holes 9 and 18 so take your camera.

Rolls has some great holes, and if you catch in in good condition, it’s a very pleasant place to play. Starts slow and warms up nicely.

St Pierre Old Course is lined with some very large trees, so placement of shots is extra important or you’ll be blocked. When the leaves start to fall, finding the ball bees as challenge. Good mix of holes and good challenge of back tees. The Mathern Course is very much a Number 2 course, some decent holes and some you wonder why you played, but be patient. If playing both, make this the warm up!
