Going golfing to Portugal next week and we are hoping to get in 4-5 rounds of golf. We are staying in Albuferia and going for a few rounds to Villamoura and want to play the old course, millenium course and either of the O Connor or Faldo courses. Would we be better off booking them over the Internet or wait til we get there?

Do it on-line as you can get a better deal, but do yourself a favour and forget Millenium and Faldo. Victoria and the Old Course are brilliant, O'Connor isn't bad but over priced and Faldo is over hyped. Oceanico are ok, but tracks like laguna and millenium are over played and a production line. Pinheros Altos and San Lorenzo are cracking tracks and if you get chance to play Val Do Lobo Royal, do it as its by far one of the best in the Algarve (The Ocean course is not a patch)

I'll go against the previous post and tell you to contact them direct (we did last 2 years and it bagged us the best deal out of anyone that was around). Also the Faldo and O'Connor are 2 really nice tracks that have been in stunning condition when we played in June both years and you get well looked after by great staff.Sure we paid 60E per golfer incl buggies for each course.

And going by what 99 % of folk that have played it Victoria is a pile of over rated, over priced pish.

Morgado, and Pinta and Gramacho offer you 3 good courses that can be played at good prices if you are savvy with who you book through depending on what time of year you are going.

Was in villamoure 3 weeks ago nobody there just like a ghost town at night, take plenty of euros with you cost me £1700 for a week golfing played the the old course twice, the Victoria twice the Faldo once and Laguna, we were booked on to play at 09:30 each day, it’s a lot cheaper if you play in the afternoon, pre book you buggies or it will cost you 50 euros to hire on the day you do get a free small bottle of water for that, if you play the Faldo you will have to hire buggies no walking allowed

Make sure you all have valid handicap certificates with you. Villamura Old Course is the only course I have ever played that I have had to produce a handicap cert for.

Cheer's for the replie's lads. Ya we have a few of the vilamoura courses ear marked,we will think twice about the O Connor or Faldo courses now after some of the replies. My mate played Gramacho last year and loved it so we might go there aswell. I'll have a look into the other 2 courses dodger. Pine cliff's is another course that grabbed our attention, more fore the views then the actual course. I'll search the net and see what deals I can get. I'll let ye know later how I get on.

Thats steep :D, I'm going March next year & 4 nights B&B (Tivoli Victoria Hotel) plus 4 rounds (Old, Victoria, O'Connor & Faldo) 3 including buggies & transfers costing less than a quarter of that

Handicap cert's? We have GUI cards(handicap cards),I presume they will do. :p

I wouldn't think twice about Faldo & O'Connor.............get them booked, trust me you will love them in fact I will promise that you will.

Re those course I would just wait and contact them when you get there, when we went last 2 years (both times US Open week) the place was deserted and deals were to be got but they are 2 quality golf courses.
