Golf Holidays Spain

Hi all,

New to the forum.

Planning a golf holidays later in the year, played La Manga Club for years, but fancy trying somewhere new.

This company seemed to have some good deals for golf holidays in Spain, http://www.golfamigos.co.uk/htm/spain.htm, http://www.golfamigos.co.uk

Has anyone use them? Any feedback?

Also, any course recommendations in Southern Spain?

All feedback would be much appreciated.

Cheers

C

I have used yourgolftravel for my golfing breaks and they have a good selection of courses in Spain.
Last time I booked Montecastillo - 3 nights, 3 rounds of golf for £99.
Course is very good, has held European tour events previously. It was immaculate, everything about it.
The greenskeepers rake the bunkers during your round so you never play in someone elses foot print.
Total cost rose as I paid for a buggy every day so total cost was £200.
Buggies have GPS on them though so that was cool. Course is long and distance between some of the greens and next tees is quite long so I would recommend it.

Hotel says 5 stars but it is a little worn down. Not much else around the course so as long as you are happy just playing golf, it will be fine.

There is a racing track near the course and a review I read complained of the noise, so you might want to check if there is a race on.

Thanks for you response. Much appreciated. I'm torn between two...

La Cala Resort, Malaga with YourGolfTravel

Torrequebrada, Costa Del Sol with Golf Amigos

Both seem challenging enough that they will be interesting but at the end of the day I'm just looking for some good golf in the sunshine, both will meet those needs.

Anyone any experience of these courses?

Think I'll book for end of September.

cheers

Iv played most if the ones in the golf amigos link, torrequebrada is great, didn't really rate la cala America, Europa was good though, most of the other courses around fuengirola area are pretty decent, alhaurin is a bit mountain goatish though and a perfectly good **** can roll way down ravines and things, beware if you stay at la cala though as its away up in the hills and a good 15/20 minute taxi ride down if you want to go out at night. Have never used either of those companies though
