Hi all, now I know there are endless posts on holidays but just wanted some feedback on holidays in the sun.
A group of 16 of us usually, handicaps from 5-24. Want good courses but also sun on our backs and reasonable nightlife.

We've been to Vilamoura and also Marbella. Having seen the escalating prices we have stayed in UK for the last 4 years and been plagued with the wet stuff. This year we've been to le touquet, great trip and the weather was kind, we've all now decided having had decent weather this year, we're going to spend a bit more next year to try and guarentee the weather, say £5-600 and fly to southern europe in search of a short wearing climate - ps we normally go late May.

Any suggestions - especially any away from the regular haunts of southern portugal and spain?

I've been to turkey loads of times, and doubt very much if you will get it for 5-600 quid in late may, we usually go early may and its usually around a grand. Also althought the hotels are stunning and cater for everything, that's all there is....the hotel. Theres a very small villiage but a ghost town. There's no nightlife like vilamoura or in the costa del sol. There is nothing to do outside the hotel.

La Cala or USA

High desert in Oregon is simply stunning and a gauranteed 25* with no humidity and outstanding courses and service

La Cala Spain. 3 courses of the highest order, The Amercia's, The Asia, and the Europe good hotel on site with the added extra of being able to go to the local towns for nightlife etc. Turkey is good but nothing available outside the hotels. We are going to try Ireland next year..... If the budget and time allows then good deals in the US and SA are out there for larger groups. Time in a plane suggests careful thought but SA is only a couple of hours time difference and you fly at night. We have just come back from Le Touquet and yes it was v good. Let us know how you get on.

Only two or three courses, but Madeira could be worth a look. I played twice near Funchal and loved it.
