Golf Buddy Voice

They have them in our pro shop. Look very small. Too small for me, I would guarantee I would lose it within the first month.
The pro himself said he wouldn't use it. But uses the normal GPS. He said about the voice and worry if it talking randomly, don't know if it was paranoia or experience though. Apart from that I can't tell you anymore. Apart from the hats for them look stupid lol.

friend 'has' one, clipped to his hat, presses and a voice states the yardage, you can control the volume but lets say you also want affirmation, how many times you gonna press it when your playing partner is 15 feet away listening to 187 yards! 187 yards! 187 yards! plus if on the wrong fairway (it happens so I'm told :smirk:) is the yardage to your hole or the one you've strayed onto, press again for hole affirmation..............
overall a good idea like having a caddy but I can only go on his experience, and ours as we watch him click his hat 10 times a hole

My mate has one its very good.nobody else hears it, you wouldnt know its there unless you stood next to him.
It tells you what hole your on, wrong fairway= yardage to wrong green.

So a big slice with your driver onto the wrong fairway , youd get the wrong yardages
Does it indicate what hole its showing the yardages for?
Hows the interface? is it quick?
How long to find the satellites?

Any info about it would be a help
never used gps before , id hope they easier to use and not annoying as tech usually can be

if you have mis hit a shot for eg.your playing the 4th and hit your drive on to the 5th fairway, surely you would expect it to tell you the distance to the 5th green?
It cant tell you distances to hazards etc as, also i dont think (not 100% on this) that its any good on something like a 90* dogleg etc.
The combination of his voice thing and my rangefinder work well, although im sure there is something that can do both.

I have one which i won in a competition, but i wouldn't buy one now if i had the choice. I've had problems with mine turning itself off and on again. Golfbuddy's customer service is s***. They told me to do something and it would be fine, it wasn't. They told me they would email me, they didn't. You can mute it which is quite handy, and it does show you which hole you are on, and if it is wrong you can change it with a press of 2 buttons. very practical. I would get the garmin watch if i could. Hope this helps.

Would you really prefer the Garmin watch?
I have a choice between the Garmin s1 watch or the golf buddy voice
What would you all choose?

There is also a bushnell neo + which is the similar but no voice, front/middle/back yardages aprox £100. Not tried it but interested in this and the s1 and voice. Just something small and simple is all i require.

Im leaning to the S1.

Ive got £160 max for a gps so my options limited
Big 2 contenders are the Garmin s1 Watch and the golf buddy voice
any one else used these, id like to know as much as i can about it from people that actually used it
And not just the reviews that don't really tell me the problems with it

I heard the s1 watch is terrible to charge, and regular turns its self off
I don't hear many bad things about the golf buddy voice, can anyone tell me anything

Golf Buddy voice would only be good if you could have Mr. T as the voice.

It's 295 fool, but I ain't gettin' on no plane!

I think everyone appreciates Mr T but any good info about those 2 gps devices greatly apppreciated

I think it would really help my game, like most people funds limited and dont want to buy something crap

£160 max budget will get you a Garmin G3 as Tesco were selling them for around £129. Good reviews on here from folks that bought them.

Thought about Hillman TM 1500? Good laser rangefinder and easily within budget!! £110 think I paid!
