A sort of follow on thread from homers.

We all or some of us guessed how many balls homer would loose this year for his blog.

But how many do you think you will loose this year???

I think i'll play about 60 rounds this year, once a week and a few extra rounds during the summer. On average I lose 1 every 3 rounds, so, 20.

I lose a ball every second round on average so if I play 30 competitive games in the season I'll lose 15 or so balls in the season.

If bounce games are included my ball loss rate will increase through recklessness off the tee and trying to shape shots etc!

I'd like to say as few as possible but I'd say it will be 40ish as thats about what I lost last year.

40 or 50 depending on how much practice rounds i play and new courses i play. I hope its lower though as i spent a fortune on balls last year.

If I lost 8 in 2 holes on Monday, i may need to take a mortgage out to cover the costs at the end of the year!!!!!!!

Zero. I've never lost a golf ball and never will. Also did you know that Jack Niklaus never three putted on the last day of a major.

Loads. I am going to Fl in March, and I always drown a few over there. Every hole with water really punishes shots that normally you would get away with.

I probably lose one every other round but at the moment we have a problem with a crow on the course that plucks your ball from the fairway so it could go up this year.

I don't lose that many, however the rough at my last club wasn't punishing so unless you thrashed one out of bounds you tended to be able to find most. South Leeds doesn't look much different however there are a lot more boundaries that easily come into play so the ball lost stats may go up.

Blimey Screwback you've got me thinking now. I might even keep a little running total now. Unfortunately I lost 2 balls on Tuesday but still got 36 pts.

So thats 3 rounds and 2 lost balls so far. If that ratio carries on then i'm giving the game up.

I would probably lose one every 4/5 rounds through the summer , but winter a little more due to the piles of leaves evrywhere
