Golf bag rain hood things

Sod that all that wasted energy. I’m a minimalist person, I’ll only take what I need and in the summer I’ll often only take a pencil bag out so I don’t even have to carry all my clubs. 😂
And then it rains so you get soaked through? Rather you than me. I use a trolley all summer so no qualms about what I'm carrying.

One of the best I have owned is similar to this. This one looks like it is on backwards, it falls closed automatically when it is on a golf trolley

Powakaddy or similar all over bag covers work well

One of the worst I have owned was a Masters rain hood - zip broke in weeks.

I have one of these perfect for me

I’ve gone down a similar but slightly cheaper route. Not a great brand known for quality and I’ll reserve judgement until it arrives, but I like concept. Good thing it’s its Amazon so if it is crap I’ll easily get my money back.

can't be as silly as wandering around in glorious sunshine with a rain cover flapping about
Why would it be flapping about? My rain hood is made of stiffer material than that.

I think I'm learning here that a lot of golf bags have really crappy rain hoods?? I'm glad my Motocaddy Hydroflex doesn't have this problem.

Those things look so silly to me. Surely it only takes a mild gust of wind to blow it off your bag??
Potentially, but I’m guessing you can tuck it in a bit. We’ll see. Like I say, Amazon are usually decent with refunds and it was pretty much free as I’ve got a voucher.

On the storing the rain hood thing, my bag has a rain hood pocket on the underside, very handy.

Seems as though this is a marmite issue!

I have to admit when I see people putt with a glove on I cringe internally 😂
Why? I put my gloves on on the 1st tee, take it off after shaking hands on the 18th. Can't be bothered with glove on, glove off. It's a faff.

There's very few people I play with do any different.

What's the issue?

Ultimately it’s personal preference, but I’d rather not putt or chip whilst having a sweaty piece of leather wrapped round my digits. Personally I can get a better feel for short shots without a glove and feel it in my hands more. For me doing any of that with a glove on is like trying to read braille in a tub of Lego.

I don’t even leave my glove in after a single shot. Always comes off straight away and back on just before I arrive at my ball. I find that stops hands sweating, preserves the nice and leather in the glove and allows my hands to get air to them. I don’t see how taking it on and off is a faff, takes less than 1/2 a second to do and requires not thought nor does it impact playing time.

Oh and the main one it just looks a bit crap 😂😉

I have one of those too. Lovely towel but a big flaw for me is that the clip is at the top, so I can't attach it to my bag and then pull it up over the clubs. I need to detach it to act as a rain cover.

How do you use yours?

I leave it on all year too. Not bothered what it looks like and it's less faff than taking it on and off every time it rains.

Solution for that. I have my aquaflex waterproof bag that has the hood on. That stays in the garage during dry months and the trolley bag is out. Rain due… everything goes into the waterproof bag. 😁

Yes it looks a clip really

I can hit equally crap chips/pitches/putts with gloves on & off - during the winter we have just had, I wore rain gloves for the whole round & only took them off/changed them mid-round if they were too wet
