golf at the crack of dawn

The great thing about going out early is no-one on the golf course looks at you as if your mental because they are there to.
Love walking past people who are going to work though they all look at you as if you are a layabout and unemployed and lazy.

Feels great doesn't it - proper millionaires golf

Our twelfth tee is alongside the road and there was a long queue. Many jealous glances as I played 11 and walked towards the next tee.

after another poor nights sleep on Saturday I was awake at about 4.30am yesterday morning so decided to head out for 18 holes.
I was standing on the first tee at 5.10am on a lovely sunny morning and proceeded to stroll around the course in 2hrs 45. I wasn't rushing as I need to get some practice in with my new wedges so on some holes I was hitting 5 or 6 balls from different distances.
after a bit of chipping and putting on the practice area I headed home and was sat in my garden with a coffee and croissant by 8.30 so still had a full day at home.

What did the greenkeepers say when they saw you :D

Was at Royal Ascot for 7.00am and first on the course and had the place to myself. Now I'm not sure if it was the sun shining (although the wind was ideal preparation for Hillside) and the tranqulity but I was +3 gross for the first 11 holes. 12-14 the wheels fell off big time and in the end I came home at +12 (level handicap) but hit the ball better than late

Aside from the good golf, the wildlife was out in abundance including roe and muntjac deer, jays, woodpeckers, parrots, rabbits and a few kites soaring. It was a perfect morning and I missed all the showers. Good times

Parrots? where were you,at the zoo

Ours are quite amicable as long as stop and let them finish mowing the green you are approaching, raking the bunker or moving the hole. At that time of day there's no pressure from anyone behind so it's not a problem to loiter and enjoy the surroundings.

to be honest I didn't see any green keepers - I could hear them but they must have been several holes in front of me. as HJS said, if I do encounter them I let them do their job as I have plenty of time so can wait.

Was up to nip out in front of the 4BBB comp this morning roll into the car park at 5.45 open boot cart bag ✅ shows ✅ trolley ❎ uh oh! That's torn it. Off to practice chipping then and home for breakfast before football training with the lad much earlier than planned doh.....,.

4BBB Comp today, first off at 7:00am, gets to the 3rd, Rave in the woods next to the course, not played to House music before!

Our course does not open till 7.30 and before then the greenstaff are working on the fairways and greens. I'm told going out much earlier than that is not the done thing. Have gone out once early so far, was at the club at 7 and probably teed off just before 7.30......but like others have said I would happily go out earlier.
