Of those 1500 members, how many are actively contributing in any given period?
According to the user list I would put that figure more like 250 active members.
Of that 250, how many have actually played golf with other members as a direct result of participating in the forum?
40 or 50 maybe?
Doesn't seem so big now! But size ain't everything, it's all about the quality. ( Story of my life. If I had a quid for every time I've heard these words,... etc. etc.)
Don't see this as a Society as such. However, we do get out and meet up and play, all be it on a geographical basis but most furums are like that in some way.
Scots guys have got their third outing this year in a fortnights time. Given that we all play at our own clubs etc, that's not too bad for a bunch of cyber geeks is it?
You Scots are obviously more sociable than us southerners.
As far as regular posters on here, I could probably count them on my digits, which doesn't make us very big at all. Mind you if I don't visit for a few days there's more than enough posts on here to read.
What we lack in quantity we make up for in quality. I'm sure if we weren't using this forum or were as passionate about it as we are GM wouldn't put on as many things for us (challenge matches, secret testing, kit tests, freebie gifts for posting internet questions etc). I don't see other mags or forums supporting their members as much as GM does
I don't go on the internet much or use computers much, and I don't do forums, chat rooms etc.
But here is different..everyone is so friendly and it's really informative. I agree that the southerners should meet up as I would love to put faces to names. Hope to see some soon!
Craig. You or any of the guys up here (or from the North of England) fancy a game at my place then I would be happy to try and arrange something........say monday 11th Nov???
Depends on the bloo?y weather of course!
