That's a fair point. Your numbers are a bit all or nothing, but yes, the effect would be the same when comparing median and mean.

Would be good to see some of the underlying data from someone that has game golf to compare their mean and median numbers. For a bit of context, I mean.

Because I'm inquisitive and a tremendous golf bore I have just done this... extracted distances "Off the tee" "All rounds" with Driver only, manually from Game Golf!

Aside from maybe 5 rounds, this is all data from my home course, undulating parkland, soft, in all conditions, winter-summer in Sussex (Cottesmore)
There's a variety of tight/open, uphill/downhill and wind conditions there.
All rounds are stroke play, majority in competition. Handicap between 8-14. Age 42-44 = average
I use the range a fair bit, had a few driver lessons as I think I'm below average/poor in Driving - my perception.
Although I'm not a "short" or "long" hitter necessarily = average (ever since knee op. etc.)
Most drives are with Titleist 915D3 or Nike Vapor Flex 440 (neither are "hot" drivers) = average.

I used Excel to do stats, "Average" in Excel is "arithmetic mean" I believe?
If you are an excel whiz and want me run other stats fire away.
