Wow,some folk are taking this a bit too far! Thank you for the input Mike,I think that the communication between editorial staff and us punters is one of the best things about your magazine,as well as the frequent gifts/fittings/comps you offer to ALL forum users,be they subscribers or newsagent buyers! My idea about a free sleeve was just an idea, feel free to ignore as I already get good value from the mag,and indeed if I can pay a twice yearly dd then I am happy to finally subscribe after 4 years of buying your mag. Also the offer of tasty Bridgestones is hard to resist,so I will ask my good wife to get a sub for my birthday in November.Cheers.

I was lucky enough to get a Heather and Links leather scorecard holder when I took up my subscription last year. Fabulous thing it is too. I am of the same opinion as many on here that the discount we get as subscribers is reward enough. I don't mind a free gift but it's not a reason why I would take out a product. I love the mag and look forward to it every month.

As a subscriber, I like the 'free' iPad version aswell as it being on my doormat every month.

£50 or less for 13issues is good value compared against £4.10 per copy.

The only criticism I have is that IPC took this years Direct Debit payment without any prior notice whatsoever which at the time annoyed me.

It's a decent mag but I find the instructional/coaching pages to be the same every other month.

I subscribe and I get the special subscriber mag before its out in the shops, delivered to my door and cheaper than retail.........

It's a no brainer, AND it's the best Golf mag out there........

Ditto. I cant believe people are complaining about paying subs for a mag which costs a tiny fraction of their gear and membership costs, especially when they save money compared to the shops.

Plus forget the monthly DD, are people really saying they cannot afford to pay subs every 6 months which IS offered. I pay £13 every 6 months and it's better than having to go to the shop to pick one up or even missing one out as you don't have any change.

Delivered to the door or downloaded on the iPad, no brainer

The only farce IMHO is the existence of this thread. If you don't like subscribing without a free gift then don't it's your prerogative. Alternatively cancel your subscription every year and renew it so you can get a free gift. What I do think is disrespectful, especially when you consider all of the hard work and special offers the GM team provide, is posting a petty thread about it. THAT is farcical!

I've read this with interest and a lot of it made me laugh. I can't believe some people really think that GM or IPC can afford a dozen balls x 20,000+ subscribers. I think Mike summed it up perfectly and as normal presents the other side of the coin and gives the business rationale. Its a take it or leave it thing as the years go by. Personally I'm happy to pay each year (actually HID does it for Xmas) to get my mag early and some subscriber only offers and events

If you're not happy, don't buy.

Everywhere does the same advertising for new customers...Sky being the biggest culprits.

Thanks to all for the reponses and comments. Feedback always welcomed

I really do appreciate in these cash strapped times everyone is looking for not only 13 issues of a mag that's a decent read but also as good a deal as can be found and we really do value subscribers very highly

I dont pretend we get it right every time but we always strive to produce good content for the mag, add value through bonus free content on the website, youtube. social meda etc and then offer fitting opportunities, good comps and support for forum days

Mike, you can please some of the people some of the time, you can even please all of the people some of the time, but you'll never please all of the people all of the time.
Keep up the good work
