What if Patricks or someone from Devon enters?

Its the same situation - do they get a bye because no one in their area has entered ? Ireland includes ferry or place travel for one person - it gets very expensive then ?

Hi folks,

With only 25 (plus another person who has PM'd me today) interested and the competition really needing more than double these numbers, I'm just about to pull the plug on everything and unless something crazy happens today, I will look to issue refunds within the next 48 hours, starting from this evening at 2100.

Disappointing for those who have sent over their entry fees, I know, but hopefully this is something that can be picked up another time by another willing forum user.

Thanks!

A pity Dave - I'd have loved to take part in this but it wouldn't work for me with the football season away to start and cutting into my available time for golf

Dave. A shame but c'est la vie...

PS - you're too efficient for your own good. I saw my refund in PayPal before I saw the latest in this thread. Was going to suggest (subject to individual agreement ) that you bung the money over to H4H. Going to bung mine in when I settle bills for the h4h handicap challenge.

I don't know the reasoning behind, but I imagine that 26 people around the UK would be pretty spread out after the first round! And there wouldn't be much in the coffers to contribute to the expenses later in the process?

We could ask if the 26 participants would be willing to increase the payment to a tenner. Less people means less rounds on the route to the final as well, so costs saved there might offset the increased number of rounds.

Just seems a shame to can it. With 26 people we will only have 4 rounds for most with 10 people having to play an additional round not getting the bye.

Some bad news guys Virtuocity won't be back on the forum for a while. He's had to have his dog put to sleep and is very upset. So please give him some respite.

Sad news all round. Pets really do become part of the family. And shame about the golf, could've been the start of something good

thanks for all your efforts though mate
