Does this mean youre not drawing the 1st round until the end of July leaving just 4/5 weeks in the school hols for the 1st round to be played? Would it not make sense to bring the date forward a couple of weeks?

Im in btw, money sent

Just another small point virtuocity, what are you going to do if 2 people from 1 club enter? are you going to automatically draw them against each other or are you going to deliberately keep them apart? Seems a bit daft to enter this then play Alex1975 in the 1st round at our home track

Point taken :thup:

Just a quick-fire question back- what if you and Alex make it to the next round? Do you think you should be kept separate again? At what point do you believe that it's not daft to be drawn against him?

To answer your earlier question- if anyone thinks it's going to be very difficult to organise and commit to a tie organised around 26th July and to be played by the end of August at a course close to your home then there's very little I can do. I struggle to see why two people, even in holiday season aren't able to mutually agree to a 5 hour timeslot to travel to and play a game. Maybe I'm just not as busy as other people :D

1) Havent a clue tbh. Nike matchplay they keep you apart from 3 rounds i think it is but obv they have more rounds to play with. I guess maybe just 1 round apart then drawn against each other if both through (only a 1 in 4 chance we both win so unlikely). Funnily if you do it on home postcode not club postcode I expect were not drawn together anyway (were 25 miles apart and theres others local who i expect will enter) but surely this will affect others not just us 2?

2) Just talking from experience of having had to organise games like this before, only takes both to have a couple of weeks away and theres little time left. I like you have enough time but not sure that applies to everyone and obviously being the 1st round theres more games to organise. Just dont see the need for a whole month of registration, 2 weeks should be plenty surely and then you have 2 weeks extra to play the games (but again only imho)

But if someone's away for 2 weeks now they'll easy be able to fit game in but will miss out registration. Always a tricky decision making rules and time frames. :)

any thoughts on whether you would want to be drawn against another guy from your club or be kept separate at least for 1 round?

I'm in :thup:

I don't see an issue with the time frames, I've received my Nike & HDID matchplay round dates and both of them are 4-5 weeks max to arrange and some of my competitors are well outside of my post code area. With the light nights and not being too far away from each other shouldn't be too much of an issue for anyone IMO.

Thats why i suggested a mini meet for guys within a certain distance of each other, but if i have to play a fellow member thats ok by me.

@williamalex_1

I keep meaning to post about what you've suggested.

Once you've arranged a tie, feel free to post details of it in the Arrange A Game section if you'd like to meet up with other forum members for a mini meet at the same time.
