Evening,
Any one recommend any gloves that are thick enough to keep your hands warm, but thin enough that there not bulky, you can get some feel through them I. E opening things, pull from a dog when tracking on a line.

Cheers

Have a look at the sealskinz range. They are pricey at full whack but you can get some good deals and like all of their stuff it's good quality. The advantage of much of their gear is that the waterproof element keeps the wind out.

I have a pair of their mittens, no laughing they are best for warmth and I use them when walking the dog, and they really do the job. No use for you but the benefit of the brand remains the same.

I can't help with a recommendation, but I do have a question or two.
First, if it's that cold, why not find something to do indoors?
That's what I do.

Second, what does "pull from a dog when tracking on a line" mean?

I have a dog, but for the sake of my fingers, I don't try to pull anything from her.
That's why I still have eight of them plus two thumbs.

Sorry about that mate, I automatically went into terms I knew and thought eveyone would know them.
Unfortunately I don't get a choice of going inside if it's to cold. I wish I did though ????

Surely this depends on the individual. My hands get really cold so I'd need something really heavyweight whereas others would get by with something lighter.

Like the sealskins, but the pair I have, if you take a glove off for summat and hand gets damp/ wet. glove goes back on.When I have taken gloves off after that the inner liner ends up coming out. It’s a royal PITA. Ok when hands are dry.

You can use PSOP to order them - and get a governor to approve it. If you're met that is - not sure what the county mounties use for uniform ordering.
