After drawing several blanks I finally won something playing in the works society and ended up with 2 pieces on the same day.
Its a good social occasion really but gets quite serious for the glassware.
Played at Market Rasen - a beautiful tree lined track and one of my favourite courses (certainly is now)
Busy morning at work so had to make a dash for the tee with just a couple of practice putts under my belt. Luckily I was in the last group off so managed to compose myself a little.
Front 9 I totted up 18 points with a couple of blow up holes which were blobs - very happy with the rest.
Grabbed nearest the pin on the 11th for a bit of glassware
Then made 22 points back to take the win with 42 points. My best round of the year and finally managed to keep it going for the full 18 holes.
A guy who went off in the first group had been sat with the winning score of 38 for over an hour when we came in - I took the win and another in the group grabbed 2nd with 40 points.
Recent games I have been getting into the 30's but too many errors have eroded a decent score that could challenge a win Will be a serious cut before the next society game next month but will live on this high for a few games.
Now only if I could do that with a handicap qualifying card in my hand!!
