Probably been done to death but time to start another arguement.

Here are my carry distances, not 100% accurate however these are the AVERAGE carry distances which I have measured using my GPS on both the golf course and the practice area.

Driver 238

3 wood 215

21 Hybrid 200

4 184
5 175
6 166
7 154
8 145
9 133
pw 118
gw 100
lw 70

How short/average/long am I?

Yep, about the same as me too (basing on average).

Good to know someone else creams a pitching wedge too... I used to think I was overhitting it. Now I know I need a gap wedge.

Now I dont usually reply to these threads, but seems as though work is quiet and im bored then I might as well have a go....

All are rouch carry distances (I dont get much run anyway)

Driver - 270
3 wood - havent hit it for so long that ive forgot
20* Hybrid - 220
3 iron - 210
4 iron - 200
5 iron - 190
6 iron - 175
7 iron - 160
8 iron - 150
9 iron - 140
PW - 130
52* - 100
58* - 85

Easy to measure at this time of year as there is no run at all.

Driver = ? Varies hugely so no such thing as average.

4w = ditto.

3 hybrid = 185, as that was what happened yesterday when I thought I middled it.

4i = ?
5i, 6i and 7i similar, could be 170 or 145.
8i, 9i and wedge, 120ish.
50, 54 ans 58 about 100 to 80ish depending on contact.

It so depends on the quality of the strike it is ridiculous to try to even guess, and hitting out of a swamp is not helping get good contact.

It puzzles me how anyone can say what their carry is.

How do you know?

Do you always have a pitchmark where the ball pitches or do you have a helper standing marking the spot? :D

Its easy when you practice at Lochwinnoch or Rothesay because the pitch mark is where the ball is, usually an inch under the ground!!!!!

We cant all be blessed on fast, hard running quick drying links turf dodger so wind your neck in!!!! ;)

Do you play at altitude??

I would say i drive the ball maybe 235 - 240.

Then the rest i hit them around about the distance to the pin and then make birdie ;)

You must be slacking, the last time I was talking to you, you were celebrating a hole in one! Do you remember??? :D
