After seeing a few posts on rules (incl mine) thought it would be a useful post to link to the 'free' booklet from the R&A or download the PDF to your PC

Most golf clubs have loads of free copies of the rules that you can have and they are small enough to carry in your bag

They also have an great iphone app but under current rules it's a bit grey as to the use of a 3GS or iphone 4 on the course. Because they both have "non-conforming" features in the shape of a compass. 3G users should be fine though
