Bit surprised by this

Guess the up turn in form many of us hoped would come from stepping back perhaps hasn't materialised.

Maybe some 'clear the air ' stuff happened with Spieth & Cantlay also.

But surprised there aren't 'PR people' helping avoid these kind of headlines.
Seems a bit of a theme...

Seems Rory isn't going back on the board after all...

Maybe some questions on the re-joining process, and him pushing for more International tournaments being impediments

Edit: adding link to GM

Seems there is a lot of talk about the likes of Cantlay not wanting to find anyway to reach any deals with PIF where as Rory wants to find a solution to the issues

It’s not looking good at all for Tour golf and things are just going to get worse

Some really interesting comments from Rory here.

Quite clearly the PGAT are extremely reluctant to let go of the US stranglehold they think they have on the game - I’m guessing Rory feels Webb Simpson is swimming against the tide with the other board members.
I’ve yet to see one positive step forward that suggests the SSG investment has any value. Even the majors are stepping away from the position the PGAT have entrenched themselves in, as we saw with the PGA championship invites yesterday, and Mike Wahns comments about pathways for LIV players.

It's a bit if a shame that's what he talking about before a tournament, but as always with Rory quite candid with his thoughts.
Do wonder if they may make it harder in future to build bridges with those he was talking about though, plus he's maybe dumped a load of pressure on Simpson.

I want to know where the PGAT commisioner is - he's getting about 1.5 million dollars a month to be the head of the organisation and he's nowhere to be seen - instead we're hearing about how the PGAT is operating from a few of the players.

It is really, really bizarre.

On the one hand can follow the reasons for this. On the other it adds to the look that the DPWT is a powerless lacky of the PGAT

Its absolutely ridiculous, but this is the PGAT we’re talking about.

For me it’s very poor that Weisburger can’t play in the event

Not over sure where to post this question but here may be appropriate.

In many sports, players equipment can be subject to review/examination. I’m mainly thinking of Formula 1, where cars are subject conformity checks. Are there any conformity checks carried out in professional golf for club compliance?

At local level…very doubtful.

At the top level - yes. Clubs are tested to ensure they are within limits

Expect like most, I take articles with a 'pinch of salt', as a fair amount of agendas, tie ins, links etc.
Did find some of the opinions interesting , and a few facts also...

Bob Harig followed up that article with another the day after - Rory and Scheffler are trying to get things moving - they've put the PGAT in a position where they can't really deny them permission to do this under media rights ownership contracts - because if they do, it will look beyond petty from Ponte Vedra.

This is an important move in the political golf landscape from Rory and Scheffler, and from Brooks and Bryson - are they doing it at the request of the SSG - who have invested into the PGAT and thus far are seeing declining viewership and interest in the product ? Important to remember the SSG investment was made on the basis of a deal being made with the PIF - they (SSG) didn't make a sentimental investment, it was a financial investment that they will demand a return on. Maybe Rory and Scheffler are the PGAT renegades that are going to help force the issue and move things on more swiftly.
