our 4th head-to-head, played at Stoke Rochford, and Greg won - again, though it was close.
we're partnering in Stoke Rochford's open day next month so used this as a practice, but still a match is a match.

Par 70 SS 70 both off 20,

Greg 17 out 19 back (net 70)
Me 15 out 19 back (net 72)
both had one blob (different halves)

scored as the competition in July (betterball, 3/4 h/c)
18 out 20 back

Far closer match this time (not hard with the 7 & 6 matchplay result last time) with only a point in it going down the last. Here's hoping that we can keep that form up for the invitation open.

Well done Boys

Not bad scoring from either of you. Don't fancy your chances in the Open Day though..
Bound to be a few nett 60's in :D :D

Nice one lads

Hows your course holding up at the moment GB72 ? Fairways totally browned off ?

Nope, best condition it has been in for ages. We are getting enough rain here, chucked it down all last night then brilliant sunshine all morning. Bit of rain this afteroon then suny again. Could not ask for more out of the course at the moment and is in better condition than any course I have played this year.

Blimey I wasnt expecting you to say that. It might be one of the course I try to make next year as its probs just less than 2 hours away via Kings Lynn

You are welcome any time, bargain green fee of £16.00 if I sign you in.

I'll vouch for the condition. greens take a nice roll, not too many bobbles - in fact very few. some good(!) slopes and contours to deal with
a decent, not ridiculous amount of roll on the fairways too. so basically not too many gimmes from the course

I may be giving you a shot next time. Played in the par comp today where the maximum handicap was 18. Finished dead level shooting an 88 so 2 under my official.

Not sure how it works but the cut could be better. Over the last couple of months I have played club social matches with the Captain, last year's captain and the fixtures secretary. All of them commented that my handicap did not necessarily reflect my ability (despite putting cards in every week) and that they may have to consider a bigger adjustment next time I am up for a cut. Will have to see if they are good to their word.

Well Dodger will enjoy that but then you've scored consistently well on all of the recent occasions that we've played,
Grimsby 36, Scunthorpe 34 (or was that 35), that drubbing (8 pars in the first 9 holes!), 36 at Luton and 36 Saturday. given that you're only supposed to shoot your handicap 1 in 4, you are due and well deserved.

Plenty of time to get my handicap back up in .1s before the return to Goswick
