Played yesterday at Pleasington, my first visit to the course (was a Ribble Valley Senior League match). I use a Garmin s60 watch and, as I usually do when playing a new course, record my shots on the watch so I can have a look afterwards and keep a record of my scorecard & shots for posterity. I hadn't used that feature over the Winter as I played almost exclusively at my home course and qualifying scores were disabled.
I was surprised last night when viweing the round on my phone, that you no longer see an aerial view of each hole. Instead you now get a very basic diagrammatic image of the hole. To see the detailed map you now need to subscribe at £9 per month.
I hadn't read about this and am a bit disappointed that this has been introduced. Hope it isn't the start of a trend for other providers, and probably means I will look at alternatives when it comes to replace my golf watch.
