Being so nice I've ordered one of these for HimID. Am looking at getting a rechargeable battery set so for those of you that have done this which set did you get. Have seen the Garmin NiMH kit but wondered if there was a cheaper option that was as good. I do have an Energiser set for my camera but it takes hours and hours to charge the batteries which is why I'm asking. Thanks

I've got a charger that I keep in the car. It has a USB connector and as the car is running for hours each day it just keeps the batteries topped up.
I change then every couple of rounds - works fine for me.
You can get 12v ones for the car too if you don't have USB.

Takes about an hour or 2 to recharge 2 x AA's

Including 4 decent reachargable batteries it was less than 20 quid...

I use Energiser ones in my G3 and they last a couple of rounds. I bought them (4) in Tesco with a neat charger for around £15.

I usually charge them overnight so not sure how long they take. With 4 batteries you can rotate and always have some spares on hand.

cheers

Had a set of 4 2200mah batteries and an Energizer charger with my Garmin G3 which did the trick. When fully charged a set would last a good 2-3 rounds and I had the other 2 in my golf bag so never ran out of juice.

Just sold the Garmin and batteries/charger actually. Had to change my GPS device because the chunky Garmin G3 didn't fit in the Motocaddy device holder - doh!

Managed to get a Callaway uPro MX+ which seems pretty decent, although I bet I will end up running out of juice with that one a lot more than I did with the Garmin.

I've got the G5 and I just use Duracell rechargables, two batteries do two rounds easily.
You can get them off of Ebay cheap enough.
