Gareth Bale

Bale at the moment is a great and even world class player, undoubtedly.

Diver also - definitely at the beginning of the season, some unfortunate bookings since, and cleaned up his act a lot over the last 2 months.

Never mind statistics, it is obvious he is a great footballer. Who knows/cares what Kenny Dalglish's, Bobby Charlton's, Jimmy Greaves shot to goal ratio was. It doesn't matter. How many goals did Roy Keane score in the last 5 years of his tenure at Man U, probably not many, but the influence on the style of play and winning mentality on the team was immeasurable.

You also have the thing of how good a team they are in. Does Van Persie get more space, as Man U commit more players to attack, does Van Persie get less space due to teams putting more men behind the ball? Is Suarez better, as in a struggling team, these are more apt arguments IMHO.

....... At the moment.

As always it's going to be subjective depending on team loyalties. I'm not a fan, nor have any loyalty to these teams but.

Bale has a 15 goals this year - Suarez, Van Persie have 18 and 19 respectively.

Bale has an Av' shots per game of 4.9 - Suarez has 5.8 and Van Persie has 3.5. So Van Persie scores more goals from less attempts

Bale has a pass success rate of 78.4%. - Suarez has 77.2% an Van Persie has 80.2%. So Van Persie, a striker, has a higher pass sucess rate than a winger.

.... So there's 2, statistically, straight away.

As for my personal opinion, non-statistic based.

David Silva, Eden Hazard, Jack Wilshire, Yaya Toure all give more, on the whole to the team than Bale, but again, that's just my opinion.

This link here http://www.eplindex.com/27284/bale-suarez-van-persie-stats-13-epl-starts.html puts Bale ahead of Suarez and Van Persie overall, only with RVP's conversion rate higher. That was written yesterday...

With regards to your list and basing it over this season:

David Silva - I'd pick Bale over Silva this season and if I were buying in the summer would 100% pick Bale over him.
Eden Hazard - Hasn't really set the prem alight. A few years behind Bale, in my opinion.
Jack Wilshire - Laughable. Played a handfull of games over 3 seasons. Not in the same league as Bale and the above two.
Yaya Toure - Different positions, but i'd probably agree with you with this one. Both would be in my world XI.

Also, having seen both for Wales, i'd pick an in form Bale over and in form Giggs, any day!

People simply cant deal with his pace.

I don't think that anyone would disagree that Bale and RVP are having a great run and are up there at the top of their games,

What is also clear is that if you take out both players goals this season, then both Spurs and Man U would be low mid table at best
Look at Arsenal since they sold RVP.

Spurs would be mad to sell him for the next couple of years at least

I agree Spurs without Bale would struggle to be where they are - in fact there's no way they would be where they are!
United mid table without Judas? I don't think so! at very worst 2nd!

United without RvP = Chicharito plays. He's a 20+ a goal striker on current form.

Anyway, for me Suarez and RvP are both better because they're both on top form and have done it consistently all year. Bale tends to have a couple of quiet games then have a monster of a performance.

If I was 'Mr Real Madrid' then i'd break the bank for Bale, then either Suarez of Falcao. Saurez being the better suit for that team, imo.

If memory serves me well you 10-12m for an unproven teenage full back. Not bad in my opinion. It was Harry that turned him into a wonder winger

It was Harry that agreed to sell him to Forest, only for him to turn it down and get a chance to play him due to injuries. Red knapp has had no bearing on his improvement whatsoever!!

Personally I don't think it's a case of being a big fish in a small pond. If he's good enough (which I think he is) he'll be able to perform as part of any team no matter the quality of the other players.
