Gansborough Golf PYB Comp

yup..i'll be there. thoroughly knackered from playing 36 holes on Sunday, and then driving to Gainsborough at the crack of dawn!!

Its for Play Your Best Challenge, a Ping creation. People set themselves targets for the season. There were 4 main prize winners who got a full ping Custom Fit and coaching / advice through the year with top people in their fields (not like grass ones).

there were also 20 runners up who are joining the lucky 4 and Lee Westwood at Gainsborough for a clinic and hopefully few holes for each four ball with the man himself.
 
Just had an email from Mike H (GM Editor in Chief ) to say that Gainsborough courses are closed for the weekend as the rain has been torrential up there.

They might be open Monday, but depends what falls between now and then,

Id give it only a 30% chance of the Golf going ahead

However, the Lee Westwood Meet & Greet, question session and masterclass will still go ahead, so Im definately still going.

If we cant go on the actual course, maybe they will extend the coaching a bit.

Had the same email. But as I had already booked and paid for a hotel for sunday night I am heading up anyways>

Maybe we get a freebie for not going on the course :-)
 
I have been checking the weather sporadically since getting the email from Mike. Its been deluge, then dry, slight shower more dry, slight breeze so hopefully the course will be good to open on Monday, especially as most of the traffic is weekend for courses, so they may open for us.

Anyway fingers crossed and if Not lets hope Mike H can pull a few of Pings Strings and get us all a special treat. An extra bacon butty will do, lol. Or a new big stick (not sycamore or beech, or any tree really)

I'll be there too, medal rolled over to Sunday so got. 6:45 tee time then 5 hour drive to Lincoln to visit family. Then an hour and a bit drive on Monday to get Gainsborough then another 5 hour drive home ..... I must be mad lol. Hope the golf is on as really looking forward to that and to meet the great man himself is just the Huge icing on the cake. Look forward to meeting the guys who will be there.
 
Never been...a relatively short(?!) 3 hour drive for me...but will probably knock a fair bit off that. Hoping to hell that the golf goes ahead!!
