just back from sunny Leicestershire with a 3 & 2 win in the bag

Played ok 1st couple then I was fatting/topping tee shots for fun. Gary played very steady and had some awesome tee shots and approaches. Luckily I managed to contribute on a few of my shot holes and had some great up and downs so wasn't all down to Gary (just 90% of the time)

Played against 2 really nice blokes from Melton Mowbray GC.

Happy with the result but I need to up my game off the tee big styleeeeeeeee.

Bring on round 2 at Gary's place. Well played mate

I need to short out the crap bits :)

I didnt even clear the yellow tee on 1 uber fatted 4 wood, on a path and caned a 5 iron and ended up making a 5 for a half... good job Gary told me to play it out as I felt like picking my ball up there and then.

Trolley next time aswell, my back is in bits for some reason.

If your back is hurting from carrying and you were duffing shots left right and center then it's down to tension.
You've done it once so next time try and relax you'll play better and hit less sh!t shots.

Good work guys, we have a bye to round two just waiting on the results of the round one.

Gibbo, Ive gone off carrying recently, went out for 18 after work one evening and carried, ended up with a shooting pain down my neck and shoulder, been there 4 weeks! Il stick to loading up my clicgear, a lot less tension and a lot of energy left for the big holes!

Well done mate. A great start. I've got my singles in the morning, but just been called into work and will probably be there till 6am. Should be interesting.

I came off the course a bit worse for wear and finally back up and about now. Thankfully it didn't affect the golf too much.

Gibbo is being far too modest. I reckon it was about 50/50, but regardless of that it's a team game and I thought we worked really well as a team. We had an iffy couple of holes around the turn where we went from 4 up to 2 up but after that we held on well.
We must be difficult to play against. Me being steady Eddie and Steve randomly playing holes like a 12hc rather than 26.

Just an example. 2 not very well hit shots to cover about 220yds, then an iron to 3' and make the putt for a par 4 on a shot hole. It has to be a dagger to the opposition.
Steve also has a much better short game than a 26hc normally has. A solid putter and got up and down from around the green more often than his fair share including a couple of very tricky ones over bunkers.

Just get a bit more consistency in the long game mate and your handicap will tumble - honest.

A quick mention too for our opponents. They didn't have the best day golf-wise but great company all the way round and very helpful too.

The icing on the cake was us getting the result in first so a home tie in the next round, which will be an advantage to one of us! ;)

Bring it on.

Good luck to everyone else playing too.

good luck Hendo.

Glad your up and at them now Gary, my back is killing me, am walking round like quasimodo. May be the cause of my crap tee shots (excuses, excuses haha) but will deffo be putting in plenty of practice before our next outing

Have to admit I was driving home feeling pretty darn good, I know its only the 1st round but its still nice to win at someone elses gaff
