Fuming with Direct Golf

I blame Direct Golf for using a company like

this. They don't even deliver on Saturdays.

Maybe it's just because I work in the head office of Post Office!!

Having run a mail order company, I can confirm Dpd are the most reliable and professional courier out there, maybe next time you could give an address that someone is actually going to be at. Direct golf and Dpd do not own crystal balls!

Dpd do work Saturdays but as the fault is not theirs you would need to pay upgrade charges for a Saturday delivery!

I had an awful experience with Direct Golf when they used HDN

They claimed to have tried to deliver a package but they left no card, didnt try my neighbour who was in and i was in at the same time but didnt hear the door

When i complained to headoffice they were in the process of getting out of the contract with HDN as they received endless complaints regarding missed deliveries.

I havnt used DG since because of it and never will unless they offer me free next day shipping on my next planned order.

Shame as its not DG at fault but the muppets they contract to deliver or not in my case

Incidently never had delivery problems from other online golf suppliers

I was a transport manager before and always got my drivers to try as many neighbours as possible. Why would you want to waste time and fuel to go back again? Now I'm a househusband I'm obviously in alot and see so many couriers turn up ring bell wait a minute and go. One day as I'm leaving the house the above happened, just as he's getting back in the van i shouted over to see if I can take deliver for them, yes of course you can great thanks. He didn't think of asking I had to do all his thinking for him! Mystifies me sometimes!

Direct Golf and DPD not a problem from my experiemce.

Ordered some gear late Friday pm. Email from DG Monday telling me delivery 1 to 2 days.

Another email on Monday saying that delivery would be next day and gave me a link to get final delivery details on Tues am and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, gave me the option to change delivery address/instructions if no one would be there to accept delivery.

Followed link and was given the hour slot when delivery would be made together with the driver's name (why ?). Delivery made 25 mins into the hour slot.

Can't really beat that for service.

No!It's DG, as that's who you've paid. Though the T&Cs will indemnify them!

How can it be DG's fault!!!!

You pay for the goods & delivery and they send it. If the OP is not home they leave a card, and if it's within the timescales you have paid for then there is no issue.

Think the OP is complaining that DPD will not let him collect from the depot, hardly something that DG can have control over

Hahaha, the most inept incompetent delivery company around. As someone else said pot and kettle spring to mind!

Direct golf have fulfilled their part of the bargain. Christ you work in the industry wht did you not get it delivered to your work??????

direct golf will only deliver to card payment address and not a deliver address i appreciate this is a pain but it is a policy to tyry and stop online fraud.
thre is not issue here IMO with direct golf and ive never had any either the courier company is where the issue lies but only in there collection policy and again thats a personal thing again IMO they have done nothing wrong but can understand the frustration.

How can it be DG's fault!!!!

Because, as I posted, the deal/contract/transaction was between you and DG - though signing up to their Terms and Conditions can compromise your side of it (by accepting delivery conditions - unless unreasonable). It's who you actually pay for the goods/services that is the transaction. Hundreds of years of court rulings on this. So if you pay DG for the goods and delivery, then that's the transaction. If, however, you separately pay someone to deliver, then they'll almost certainly be 2 transactions involved.

Doesn't stop you complaining about the service, just affects where you go for recourse.

I'll take your word on it!!

I have collected from Dpd at 7am on a Saturday before... No idea what the problem is here? The card they left clearly gives you a few options.... Redeliver, collect, upgrade to sat delivery... Would you rather they left your new club on the doorstep?

Haven't read the whole thread, but seems to me that DG are not at fault. Courier companies tend to be pretty reliable although delivery problems sometimes happen when there are humans involved.

In the scheme of life's challenges, this one seems like a relatively trivial one.

The issue is that unlike any other delivery company, they won't let you pop along to the depot unless you tell them when you're coming and then they'll only deliver when most people are hard at work. It would be fine if DG allowed me to have it sent to my work. Oh well, you learn from your mistakes. I won't be ordering from them before.

DPD get absolutely slated online if you pop them in google.

Regardless of the above, I still wouldn't blame DG because the courier couldn't deliver to you when you were out!!

The courier left a card, presumably with instructions. Personally never had an issue with DG or DPD deliveries.

When I've phoned DPD previously the item is already prepared for automatic delivery the next day. So turning up unannounced is a pita because somebody has to unload a van to find your time.

Personally I can't see the issue. You were out, they left a card and you ignored the instructions on the card.

crazy thread how can you blame DG

Quick change the thread title to Fuming with Dpd before anyone notices

DG are to blame because it's them that you purchase from. It's them that are ultimately responsible for giving me the goods and yet they use a service that isn't up to scratch. Ultimately by using these small courier firms they are trying to save money. Despite the negative press that Royal Mail get, the service that they actually provide with the tens of millions of packages they deliver every day far exceeds that of most countries mail systems.

OK, whined enough yet? Any chance of continuing your misplaced fuming in a silent internalised passive-aggressive sort of way?
