Fully playable course

Been open all the time....no problems whatsoever. Full greens, proper tees. Parkland course built on sand...it can rain all it wants and we are fine!

Come the rain on Thursday and Friday there will be no hope of getting our back nine open. Big pairs event on Sunday which has already been put back from February. I am struggling to see where they can fit it into the diary but it is an honours board event so it must surely get played

Reckon we'll be lucky to get the 1st qualifier played 2 weeks on Saturday been open in parts over last couple of weeks, but been shut since Saturdays snow and rain since. Not a good start to spring!

Was at my brothers house in Strensall over the weekend, had a quick wander round your place, boy is it wet, will take a long period of dry weather to dry it out properly i would think.

Mine is yet to close, been open all winter bar two reasons:

1. Some flooding where they had to close 6 holes. In fact the flooding was not caused by the rain directly but by the council closing sluice gates to stop Cambridge from flooding!

2. Heavy snow reducing it to a "Snow Course" only, 9 holes pitch and putt :)

With all the cack weather we have endured recently, I say recently but truth is it's been poor for a full year now. When do you think you will have a fully open enjoyable golf course again?

er.... just got in from a club match; full course :)

however, I don't think I will bother with Friday's comp etc looking forwards at the moment.

if we do get reasonable weather they will all dry pretty fast, but the weather's not looking reasonable!

West Links @ North Berwick has been fully open as long as there's been no snow on the ground. A few winter tees until end of Feb, but otherwise the course has been in great shape.

second club 1st april proper tees go back on :)

We have an annual outing at Goswick where our Uni plays against staff of Newcastle Uni. Great fun and 36 holes at Goswick in August is always a treat

It's been going since a technician moved from Newcastle to Heriot-Watt Uni 42 ( or is it 46 ) years ago. Quite a tradition and still going strong. Tee times already booked for this year.

Been on a full course all winter just off winter tees. They were hoping to have the proper tees open for the April medal but they are still very soft so that will be put back a few weeks so they can get them dried out, rolled and cut properly.

Hopefully everything will be up and running when I get back from Turkey but I'm not holding my breath unless the weather gets A LOT better while I'm away.

It's a week on Saturday until the opening Stableford, so it has to be on a full course by then.

Currently we've got all 18 holes open, but 5 winter greens. To be fair, considering the snow we've had I think it's a great effort that we're open at all.

Been fortunate the last few weeks that most places have 18 holes open and only a few winter greens (Formby the only place that didnt have winter tees). Snow blizzards expected Friday and Saturday in Manchester so that will probably stop my playing at Walton Hall on Saturday morning.
