Could I have any expert comments on my drive swing as per GM mag.
I started golf 30 yrs ago but didn't play often. Then stopped until 6 months ago. Had left hip replacement 12 mnths ago. Been steadily improving (recovering) at golf until went completely off a month back. My drive swing started slicing.
Any suggestions to fix faults in swing please.

Afternoon all,

Just a quick one to say that Neil Plimmer will check the site and offer some coaching advice a couple of times each week. Keep uploading your videos - his expertise is well worth calling upon!

For someone who has had hip surgery you have now got back good movement in your hips and legs.

Try this to help your slice.
At address your right arm should be slightly underneath your left arm (lift the club up from address and hold it out in front of you, you should then be able to move your forearms into a position where your right arm sits a little underneath your left)
Then let the club drop back down to the ground, your forearms will feel as though they are in a different position to where they are in the video.

I see that at address your right arm is higher than your left, ie, your forearms will aim to the left of the target. This can contribute to a slicers action.

If you want to start shaping the ball the opposite way then get the right forearm underneath the left, forearms will feel as though they are pointing to the right of target, this will aid you in swinging the club along a better path.

Hope that advice helps, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions/queries

Neil
