Free SkyHD for 6 months.

Had an email from Sky today telling me I can get free SkyHD for 6 months with no obligation to upgrade after that.

Just in time for The Masters then! Marvellous!

Check the terms as my old man got a letter through last week saying he could have it for half price for 6 months but you have to take the multiroom aswell, still not a bad deal if your after multiroom and HD which is what my old man was looking into so it's turned out a good deal.

The golf in HD is even greater if you have a nice big TV with it.

I'm already a customer yea. And I didn't need a box as I already got a free upgrade on my Sky+ box to a Sky+HD box (which are supplied as standard now, you just have it without the HD activated if you have a normal Sky+ subscription), so it was just a matter of them activating the HD channels.

I did one of the cheap deals to upgrade to HD a few months back, and must admit it is excellent, especially for the golf. Only trouble is my six months half price viewing is due to end, so hoping i can get another deal.

I only watched it for 10 minutes last night but I have a feeling I'm going to be £120+ poorer per year once my 6 free months finishes

I'll have to get the old man to ring them again then because when he rang asking what the best deal they could do for HD it was half price HD for 6 months if he took up multiroom for 12 months.

Now i know this it might be worth trying to haggle with them if we get HD and multiroom with them if they do the HD for free for 6 months then half price for the remainder 6 months.

i got the same, rang up, and the woman said its actually 7 months free im getting. she said it would take upto 12 hours! turn my tv on 5 mins later and its all up and running.
free for 7 months is good, but as soon as i need to il be canceling, dont think its with the £10 extra a month!

Like you say, £10 a month is a bit much. I remember when I first got Sky+ they charged the same amount for the privilege. Hoping they will eventually waive the costs on HD like they did with Sky+

Just called up and asked what they can do for me.....nowt,they will give me an upgrade (got + box and multiroom at the moment) for the courier price!!

Told them to get tae france and I wanted the deal my imaginary pal had of free upgrade and HD free for 6 months.....guy says best I can do is 1 month free so I told him to shove it up his arse again.

I'll phone back and see if some other dweeb will give me what I am looking for otherwise it'll be as we were.
