Hi all,
I am looking for free golfing apps for the itouch.
I do not need a GPS yet, but i was thinking of a free scorecard or other useful apps...
What do you use? Any good scorecards??? espcially if they are free??
Thanks!

I use golf shot, scorecard but also keeps stats for you, drive direction, GIR, putts, etc etc

Does Golfshot require a home course, ??? Becasue the course i am at now will not be on any systems at all!
Also how much does it cost?
Thanks

West Rhine at niederkruchten is on there, the free version of golf touch doesn't include a gps per se, that's the paid version, it prob needs web access to download a course tho TBH.

Have a look at the app store mate, prob loads of freebies on there, even if you have to input the initial scorecard yourself

OK thanks! :)
Thats ideally what i want, Just a scorecard that i can put details in myself, I am always forgetting to get a scorecard but constatntly have my ipod with me... so this would be ideal ! :)

Golfshot free version is awesome. Don't pay unless you get good coverage and your course is fully integrated with GPS map view etc.

I bought it and only use the features found in the free version due to my home course not being mapped.

Handy when travelling to a course that is mapped though but as this tends to be for society comps I can't technically use it although I doubt many would pay any attention to that aspect of the rules. I can see there being a change to the 2012 rules to allow certain ipod apps to be used.

Another good free app is the R&A Rules of Golf.

Swing By Swing is good there is a shot tracker on it but I couldn't tell you as I couldn't be assed to use it, the guy that runs it does send you funny emails though!!! :D

Re: Golfshot. If you spend an extra 59p and get Paul Azinger's Golfplan, the 2 apps sync and the stats from Golfshot (i.e. GIRs, putts etc) will be used in Golfplan to create a weekly Golfplan.

Golfweek app is quite good (for free) and has links to decent articles about golf.

PGA Tour app is excellent for events in US, majors and WGC events. Euro Tour app not quite so user friendly but good enough.

Another app is called Weather For Golf and tells you the weather at your golf course for the next week. It's data is supplied from the Met Office. It does have an annoying pop up advert but as soon as you close it thenit doesn't pop up again until next time you open the app.

How could I forget weather for golf! I even have a link to it on my blog. It's generally very accurate for me and probably the most used golf app on my phone.
