Freddie Flintoff Fight

If its available on live tv then you should be able to stream it from frontrowsports as they usually cover virtually all sporting events

The guy he is fighting is barely a pro boxer either, a quick look through his previous fights shows a very cleverly hand picked opponent it seems. Pretty much evens the pair with the bookmakers tells you it all

Why not? He's got his license like any other boxer. Do believe it will be a short career but that's his choice.

It's for a bloody reality TV show for god sake. What's the point? I can see it being about 9 minutes long max as he's going up against a seasoned boxer.

If you think Dawson is a seasoned boxer then you are very mistaken, and as for the duration, youre not far off as I think its 4 2minute rounds

I understood it was a one off fight to show he could make it as a professional boxer, not to make a new career out of it

seen the weight in fred is taller and also 2stone lighter.. hes looking in good shape! Fair play to him for the dedication with his training. what time is the fight? i quite fancy watching it

I would love to see Flintoff against a proper (experienced) fighter so Flintoff would get a beating, can scurry off to whatever reality show he's doing next and let those that know what the fight game is about get on with it

Its funny to read some of the threads on this, how many watched the 2 episodes running up to his debut fight??

Sugar Ray and Tyson both thought he had something about him, maybe just see how he gets on. I bet if it was someone who had trained really hard for a while and entered a high end golf comp you'd be routing for them as an underdog.

I dont care which way it goes, just admire the ffort he has put in to get this far so quickly, and taken quite a few beatings to get to it.

Totally agree, he has put in a considerable effort, lost two stone changed his boozy ways and didnt need the publicity, earns far more from after dinner work and league of their own than he did from cricket!

I hope he gets what he wants out of the fight, it's certainly not a challenge that most people would or could undertake, the potential risks are high, look at Michael Watson

Prat!
This statement shows you know nothing about boxing. Why would they put him up against a experienced fight for his debut pro fight? No promoter would do that whether their fighter was an 18 year old turning pro after a good amateur career of an ex-England cricket captain. You've obviously never boxed or even trained because its probably the hardest sport to get fit for and I'm sure he could of thought of easier things to do to put him in the public view, if that was his aim.

Curtis Woodhouse the ex professional footballer turned boxer, should he give up and scurry back to his previous job? Freddie probably wanted to get back to competing and training in a disciplined sport, he probably misses it.

I'll give him credit for getting up after being knocked down and coming back but if he wasn't against what looked like a hand picked, unprepared, less experienced fighter (I won't say boxer), then I think when he eventually fights someone with more credibility, I think it will be a very short career.

Also, can't see how he got 39 points, its a standard 8 points for a knockdown so the most he should have scored was 38 points, you may still get 9 points for a standing count but not a knockdown! So, if Dawson got 38, where does Flintoffs extra point come from?

I personally think this kind of circus does nothing for boxing as a sport.

It was hardly a knockdown, it was poor of a slip and push.

Who cares guy has balls boxing and boxing a guy who has at least fought before.

The points ahold have been 38 - 37, but who is counting

Hats of to Freddie. Have seen the first 2 episodes of the TV documentary and he has worked damned hard and taken a right old hammering at times in his training. I used to do a boxercise class and was pretty fit but flipping heck 3 minutes sparring or hitting a bag and I was on my knees. I hope he'll continue with it to add some credibility to his reasons other than for staying in the limelight.

As for his opponent. Described as a "novice" which is only right surely? Why put an experienced boxer in with a novice? Makes no sense for any match up for any boxer. I guess usually the route through the amateur ranks would ensure a gradual increase in the quality of opponent as your own experience and expertise grows.

Anyway, I admire his commitment and guts.
