Saw today on another website that Fowler has gone to Cobra for 13 clubs in his bag. It seemed inevitable in my mind. Wonder will he bring out his own signature line of clubs.

What is it with players starting out with Titleist and jumping ship. Three recent notables to mind. Kaymer, Fowler and the anticipated McIlroy move?
For Titleist to be one of the biggest names in golf they don't seem to hang on to their Staff players.

I could be wrong here but I believe Cobra are related to Puma who are one of his big sponsors so this could well be a logical move.

Titleist have been sold off as well, maybe players are starting to think that the same R+D financial gain etc from Titleist will not be as rosey.
Huge signing from Puma/Cobra golf, one which will bring in millions upon millions of $$$$$ from the Ricky Fans. Always been a fan of Cobra yet never owned anything bar one wedge and a hybrid, why I'm a fan of Cobra I don't really know!!! But I am!

I used to play Cobra clubs, I liked them a lot when they were part of Acushnet. Am not a particular fan of Puma. When I went the custom fitting route earlier this year, I didn't even look at Cobra, although I still use my old Cobra gap wedge at the moment. I suspect that theCraw may be close to the nail.

I think it's probably to do with golf becoming a bigger money business and new companies or companies that have bought out smaller club manufacturers wanting a bigger slice of the pie and Titleist not being the powerhouse they once were. They've really only got the ProV1 to hang their hat on now, and there are alot of premium tour balls which are equalling the ProV quality now.

Quite happy to stand corrected here if anyone knows different.....
From what I see Titleist seems to heavily support elite amateur and club pro's/ assistants. They all get offered excellent deals on equipment and shoes etc.
Perhaps their focus no longer needs tour pros??

Titleist still have plenty of tour pro's on their books. Their clubs and balls will continue to sell, whether Rory or Ricky are on board or not.

Correct me if I'm wrong but has Rory actually said he's leaving Titleist? Or is it just someone taking a guess that Nike need to replace Tiger and Rory being the new superstar, has had his name thrown at it?

Ha! You're right, but I meant with regards to tour endorsements and their "Titleist" branded stuff as other young companies have come in and taken alot of the top tour pros sponsorships.
I agree they make fine golf clubs. As has been mentioned though, perhaps that's not the angle they want (or
need) to take.
