Found a ProV1 while in a bush today, having never played with one before, i love the feel of them on the green off the putter, felt so soft and for some reason controlled. Just a shame i lost it again 6 holes later into a water hazard :(

Are there any cheaper balls out there that feel the same on the greens and can stop pretty well with an iron or wedge as i cant really be affording ProV1's, lol

If there were, we'd all be playing them and not Pro V1s!

If you don't want to splash out and have the time, just take a walk round a few holes of your course like I do. I can usually find 80-120 balls in an hour to hour and half walk and usually about 15-20 of them are pro v's. You also get the bonus of being able to try lots of different balls out.

Oakey.....Despite what some will say and also others will definately agree with me.....If you liked the feel of the ProV1 off the putter and around the greens get yourself a box of Wilson Staff DX2's.......You wont be disappointed and they wont break the bank.......

I think they are better than ProV1's in the short game a little less spin but alot more feel. ;)

I've been trying the px2's out lately and they do seem a great ball.

Try the Wilson FG Tour. Ive recently switched to these from the ProV1x and wont be going back! I got 3 dozen from 118golf for £45, not sure if they still have the offer on.

You did better than me, I found a ProV1x on the 5th hole whilst searching for my ball in the rough (we found a dozen between us, none of them mine! How does that work?), finished out the hole with my other ball, went to the 6th, a short par 3 that I'm usually past the flag on, so thought I'd try the ProV1x as if I was a bit long I'd probably back it up a bit (seemed like sound logic at the time). Result, one shot, straight into the woods, never saw it again...

Found a Taylormade ball to other week whilst playing with a good mate, he asks does it have 2 red spots? yes i say, i lost that ball a few weeks ago me replies, i only hit it once straight in to woods.
Here you are I say you might as well have it back. So on to the next tee, yes you have it, he puts it down and smashes it over the trees and we think into a stream as we can not see or find the ball.
So a brand new Taylormade, hit twice, lost twice.

Wilson DX2 for the winter and DX3 for the summer. The DX3 feels exactly the same as a prov1 and the DX2 is just a tad harder with a little less spin.

I find the DX2 softer than a wine gum. The proV1 is a rock in comparison.

Wish I had a dog to walk round the course!

There's a hole on my course which seems to be a ball magnet with thick heather and foliage. When I'm up for a casual knock I always spend a few minutes having a poke round for lost balls. (obviously with nobody following)
An excellent way of topping up the practice ball stocks. Have also found some quality balls there too - Pro V1, Callys and Nikes.

went out an hour ago and found, a ProV1, ProV1x, a srixon Z-Star and 2 Srixon AD-333's then a couple of crappy top flight and taylormade :)
