Let people play through!!!! Even if they play up the hole with you, then let them putt out and sod off to the next tee leaving you to putt out afterwards.

other than the 3 idiots in front of me today on the par3 4th tee!!!!........ saw me behind them as they left the 3rd green. Two of them had tee'd off on the 4th as I approached the tee I had to stand still as the 3rd guy teed off.... then away they go!!! Didn't even (and you can tell when they do it on purpose) glance behind them to the 20ft that I was standing from them.


If they'd asked me to play through I'd have been outta there in about 2 mins as it was a par 3 and we could have all walked down to the green together. Feckers!!

Believe it or not, the exact same thing happened to me yesterday, and on hole 4 which is also a par 3!
4 old blokes who were pottering about and playing as slow as Ben Crane and Kevin Na. Stood behind them at the tee box expecting them to let me through, but no such luck. I was a bit peeved at this point as they had an opportunity to let me through on 3 as one of them had duffed a tee shot 20 yds into some thick rough, and they spent a couple of minutes looking for the ball.
Ended up walking past them on the par 3 and skipping it, one of them said hello, but I just gave him the daggers and walked past, I have no time for folk like that.

Had the same thing today with a fourball. Knew it was going to be bad from the 1st tee. They all play their second shots then three of them move off and the fourth one decides to have a quick phone conversation and just stands there. The most annoying part was that no-one selected their clubs until the previous player took their shot! Would they let anyone play through? Not a chance.
I really need to stop it affecting my game as I started off par, par, double and par but standing around for an average of five minutes per shot just really gets to me and starts to affect my play.
Oh.. and don't leave empty drinks cans on the tee:angry:

I went through on the 5th as one of them lost their tee shot and gave it a good 3 mins before they called me up.... I still invited them to carry on playing up the hole with me, which they did.

I did feel like exploding.

I had a meltdown today on the last too. Every man and his dog out as there was a bit of sun, waiting for ages on some shots. Why are so many ppl oblivious to others on the course. Thing that finished me off was someone lifted my ball from the middle of the fairway on the last. Sometimes golf is a farce because ppl just don't give a toss about anyone but themselves

we usually get waved thro when we're waiting at the computer in the clubhouse , to put our scores in,. after waiting to play every shot out on the course . and were older golfers ! . some people have no manners or just don't know any better , and some think they own the place. also it's not just a certain age group that do it .

Sometimes you can tell its deliberate. Some times it is pure ignorance. Tough to stomach whichever. I tend to ask if I'm on the tee and they are still teeing off especially if the course ahead is empty. Sometimes you just have to be a little forward which I wouldn't have thought would have been too hiard for you James

Normally I wait to see if they have the manners to ask me to play through then as they walk away the moment just seems to have passed... I have wanted to say "and where the f*ck do you think you're going?" many, many times. One day I might just lose it..... and whomever is there had better watch out..... will probably be at a forum meet

Am the same as homer, I'd just politely ask if they minded if I played through, 9 times out of 10 there gonna say yes. The other one time there gonna regret saying no

Because you didn't get through the very minute you were ready, you have a rant against these three making them out to be the devil's spawn. When in fact you got through in a timely manner on the very next hole after you caught them!! (& they were already playing the 4th)

I had these guys pictured holding you up for 3 hours, pushing your clubs down a hill, kicking your ball into the rough & generally poking you with sticks as you took your backswing

Sure there's a whole lot of what if's like when might you have got called through if they didnt have to search for a ball but frankly these didn't happen so are pointless, short answer is you got through within a hole of catching the group, well done them. Nice to see etiquette isn't dead

it's only in the last few years that a single player has been givin any standing on the course . before that he had no rights and he had to step aside to let others thro ,if he was held up by the game infront of him.
if i'm playing alone , i just miss out holes if i'm stuck behind some donks, then double back and play them later saves any agro
