Have always found footjoy shoes a little tight, but I like their shoes in terms of looks.
Has anyone here tried their wide fit version, did it make much difference?

I'm struggling to find a shop with them in stock to try on. Could chance buying online but said I'd ask here first. Options online are even limited but there's a few available.
Adidas seem to do a version as well

Yes. I've got two pairs of FJ Traditions in size 11 - one standard, the others wide.
They both fit the same but the wide are easier to wear with waterproof socks. But they're equally comfortable either way.
Mostly depends whether I'm wearing thick or thin socks.

I have had them in the past, one thing i did find was the leather stretched quite a bit, to the extent now both pairs are now too big length rather than width

My shoe size was 9.5 reg fit until I got a FJ fitter measurement. 8 EW or 8.5 W. And he was absolutely spot on. Bought two pairs of Tradition 8 EWs and they fit like a glove. That I wore 9.5 reg was simply the size that gave sufficient width for me - they were actually too big and where the shoe upper bent, the upper would always split from the sole. Now I know why - there was too much upper. But no longer. Bought a pair of Skechers trainers soon after. 8.5 W … lovely fit.

Ironically FJ and Skechers are brands I always have to go down a size in, to a 9 or 9.5, whereas in other brands I'm often a size 10. So their shoes are just bigger anyway. Maybe even their normal non-wide shoes are wider than other brands normal shoes.

Read the Footjoy website it’s very interesting about the lasts they use.
Some FJ wide shoes have a narrow toe so find one with a full rounded toe.

The quality of FJ has dropped a little in the last few years imo.
But they are still one of the best for wide shoes.

I have Tour Alphas in wide fit brilliant shoes but not cheap.
