Does anyone have them and whats your thoughts on them ? .Are they waterproof ,easy to break in, the reason i ask is i've had 2 pair of Adidas Adipure's this year and have taken them back as leak badly so looking at going back to Footjoy.

Hi Steve, why not have a look at the Ecco shoes.
I've just got a pair of the Hydro max full leather shoes and so far these are very comfy and waterproof.

Most of the guys i know have them and all swear by them.

TBH I dont think I will have aother pair of Footjoys - I used to love thm but 3 pairs of wet Dryjoys and damp TOur Classics and I think my next will be Ecco's.

I just dont think Footjoy are as good as they used to be - lets hope I got a bad bunch tho - as I only ever bought Footjoys and think a lot of them as a brand.

I have a pair and found them to be magic straight out of the box and they are still waterproof. The only thing I find with them is my feet seem to sweat loads with them being a full leather shoe, but it is a trade off between that and not being waterproof.

got a pair of ecco`s for the winter and just breakin them in at mo - also got a pair of fj`s sports and same as u my feet are soakin threw sweat ....would normally send them back but to embaressed to take them back to shop ...get ecco`s steve ....

I think Smiffy is breaking some in at St Mellion this week Steve, so he should be able to tell you if they are waterproof.

whit - shares in Adidas/TM Corp will plummet if they hear this news.

Craw - Are you still liking the Puma shoes as much as you were at the start? They waterproof?

Not wrong with the adidas.

I've go the tour 360 ltd ones. As comfortable as a pair of slippers, sadly they have the same waterproof properties.

Had a mare with Footjoy aswell!

Ecco and Puma are next on my list.....

Cheers for the replies guys ,i have a credit in the pro shop where i got them,he sells Footjoy,Nike and Ecco. Not a lover of Nike shoes to be honest the Ecco's i only like the ones Couples wear and am having them for the summer. i liked the shape and look of the Icons more than the Sport to be honest. Its a straight swap so not losing out going to give the Icons agoi think.

There is a pile of Adidas 360's and Adipure sitting in our Pro shop John waiting to go back all were burst, cracked soles and leaking, there quality is getting worse to be honest,i've had a few pairs of them over the years and have noticed it as well.

Coincidentally my friend just took his FJ's back as they were leaking. They replaced them and the new ones are OK but are starting to crease and split so he expects it will happen again. I'd steer clear nowdays.

They are. Totally.
Comfy as well.
Given the amount of time I was searching for balls in knee length, sopping wet rough I can certainly vouch for the Icons. My socks weren't even damp.
Brilliant shoes.
I took a pair of Contours down with me as "spares" in case the Icons got soaked. Didn't even have to take them out of the bag.
;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

I've had FJ's for the last 20 years, however, got a pair of the new FJ Dryjoys Tour and after 27 holes they were loose fitting and blistering toes, FJ to be fair replaced them but the new ones also dont feel snug unlike my 2 year old FJ non waterproof ones that are very comfy.
Wonder if FJ have started using a different manufacturer?
