Due to a fault I received these in exchange for a pair of the 2011 design. Now I loved the 2011 model. They were so comfortable and the leather was really soft and flexible. They were my favourite shoes and it was a real disappointment when the Boa lacing system jammed.
I am not normally one to post a bad review but the newer model are such a disappointment when compared with the older version.
Lets start with the leather. It feels stiffer and just not of the same quality as last year. Whilst these are the equivalent model they just feel a bit 'clunky'.
The real killer for me, however, is the padding on the sole of your feet. FJ shoes are normally like wearing slippers but the bottom of my feet ache after 18 holes in these. I have given these half a dozen rounds but after each one the bottom of my feet hurt like hell. That is not something that I have had with any other shoe, cheap or expensive. They fit fine, there just does not seem to be enough padding under my feet.
On the positive side, the Boa lacing system has been improved and feels more precise and more 'solid' if that makes sense.
Overall though, I am very disappointed. FJ shoes have always been comfortable out of the box and these simply are not. I have no idea what they have done to cause this but the soles of my feet have ached after every round and that is not good, especially as last year's model was so comfortable and bearing in mind the £100 price tag.
