Just returned from a week's golf in Florida USA and thought I might share a couple of hazards we encountered on our trip that we don't find in the UK.

Nice pics, looks like a smart place. where abouts in Florida is that??

Always nice to see some wildlife. Correct me if I'm wrong but is that a red-breasted titt in the top picture?? :D

you are a lucky man! :) Would love to be there right now :(

We came across those birds while we were playing in Champions Gate Orlando two years ago, they wouldnt budge and took us quite a while to get moving again!

The courses we played were Highlands Reserve (Twice), Worldwoods, Harmony, Timacuan, Shingle Creek and Champions Gate Intl. All in the Orlando area. The summer grasses die down in the winter months so the fairways and greens are re-seeded in the autumn to allow play through the winter, hence the poor looking greens, although they were about 10 on the stimpmeter and very true!

The mess beside the bird is where it has pecked the green.
The weather was cold and cloudy most of the time with noon day temps only around 58f. (The worst winter they have had for 30 years aparently) Better than at home though.

One week from Thursday, and I will be out there. However cold it is, it won't be minus 3.5 like it was round my track on Sunday.

Great value, very friendly and lovely course. Just don't ask for the sausage roll! $55 for a round with buggy on a Saturday morning without pre-booking.
