fleece tops?

Hi guys! im on the look out for a new windproof fleece top for the cold months ahead!! So far ive seen a:

nike 1/2 zip windblocker
mizuno windlite fleece
ping phantom thermal fleece
galvin green insula

whats everyone else got or can recommend!!?

mountainlife extreme softshell from mountain warehouse.

this is not a fleece but unlike them it is windproof and offers better thermal protection.

At what level is the base camp on your course, and do you use sherpas rather than caddies?

i got a fleece out of `next` they have a sports wear range and it was only £16..just the job mate

Hi Mazza.

If you're looking for windproof model, don't fall into the trap of thinking that any fleece is wind proof. It's not.

Wind blows right through fleece, and though they're great at keeping you warm, they won't in even the slightest of breezes.

My favourite is the Gore-Tex Windstopper stuff. Easily keeps the wind out, and some have a light fleece bonded inside for added warmth. Ideal for wearing over a thermal top in winter, and with the added bounus of being shower-proof more often than not.
