It’s easy to think this is a modern phenomenon but changing culture and views has been with us for a long time. In living memory we have had multiple cultural shifts.

The biggest difference is now we can share and hear about it much more quickly.

It’s not what is happening that is different, it’s how we are receiving it.

In the past it was newspapers, then came radio, then TV, then the internet and finally now social media. Each has just increased volume and interaction over the last.
