I've only put in two handicap cards (both 100 exactly) so they put me out off 28 and I feel a bit of a bandit now because my partner and I only bloody won the thing.
22 out, 22 back for 44 points. One blob.
We also won the twos comp with two birdies on par 3s, with only one other group getting a single two. ;D
It was just one of those days, I swear I was a different guy with my short game and off the tee. I was taking less lofted wedges than usual after some advice around the green and my partner didn't miss a single putt after my chips and pitches all day.
I also holed both the birdies on the par 3s, both of at least ten foot. I made five putts outside ten foot all day and we only had one three putt as a group all day. I felt good over everything and it translated into confident, crisp strikes.
To say this is a buzz is a massive understatement.
I think my handicap should be a little below 28 but it was more a case of our games complementing each other perfectly today, my short game was just on and with my partner's tee shots being spot on basically every time, we just couldn't stop racking up points.
Hopefully this is the spur I needed, it definitely showed to me how much I can lower my scores when my short game is on. I'll be practicing that more than ever now.
